Hey guys,
I inherited some 18" AT Italia Rivas 2 pcs wheels and tires when I bought my 2000 S4. Still have the stock wheels as well. The previous owner managed to get some curb rash on the drivers front wheel and some minor curb rub on the driver's rear. I thought about selling these, but have grown to really like how they look on the car. A few questions for you all about repair/maintaining these wheels as I've never owned a polished lipped wheel.
1. Recommendations for fixing the driver's front curb rash...pretty bad...I don't think I can polish it out. I've been told www.wheelcollision.com is the place to go. Looking for suggestions.
2. For the Driver's Rear...like I described, it is more of a curb rub not really rash. Would polishing compound be a place to start? I don't want to F up these wheels, so I'm looking for suggestions before I start.
3. As far as cleaning, what do you guys recommend? I have a hard time wetting them down and then using a soft cloth to remove the brake dust and funk from the polished lip. Seems like the funk on the lip lightly scratches the finish when I wipe it. Again...recommendations?
Thanks for your help.
