As you can see I got a 2006 Mazdaspeed6. It's only got 27k miles now and has absolutely EVERY option, including in-dash motorized navigation and smart key so I dont need to put the key in the ignition to start it. I am really loving it already and for being a 4 cyl it is no slouch, don't ask me how they got 275 hp out of a 2.3 liter turbo engine, but this thing def pulls some g's! It's awesome too becuase it is AWD! So it's just like home, 6-speed, AWD and turbo power! It's great! [;)]

Excellent choice on the mazdaspeed6 there. I regret letting my 05 Accord LX go since it was just as reliable as my 98 A4 2.8Qtip, though in a year looking to get a Mazdaspeed6 myself, or an 04-06 Nissan Maxima

Congratulations, the Mazda is a nice car, almost bought one a few yrs ago but I thought the 275hp came w/ the v6. If the 4 has 275hp what does the v6 put out?

The Mazdaspeed6 comes with the 2.3l turbocharged I-4 that has 274 hp and the regular Mazda6 has an optional 3.0 liter V6 that only has 215 hp... weaksauce... haha This car is dang fun to drive. [cool]

That is the MazdaSpeed6, Turbo 4Cyl.

Congrats on the purchase man. I would have personally got the MazdaSpeed3, but that is me. They pick up some pretty good power with bolt ons and sound pretty good

Yeah I looked at the Speed3, but I wanted the 6 becuase it had AWD, which I really wanted to stay with after having 3 quattro's.

Your right about the mods, I have only been briefly looking at some forums to see what you can do and a cold air intake will give you like 20hp in these things... lol thats funny coming from Audi's where the stock airbox is so efficient. Which makes me wonder why some of these Japanese car companies haven't figured out to just put a different intake on the cars in the first place! haha Oh well, Im sure I'll do a couple simple bolt-ons like an intake and leave the rest alone. [;)]

Ha, i was used to it. It is only some Jap cars ;) on my Evo the stock airbox was good up to like 400AWHP. No need to change it unless you go bigger turbo. Good luck with the car man!

I'm am selling it so cheap becuase I need it gone fast. I don't want to have 2 car payments for too long you know... Plus the market seems pretty much dead right now, even at this price I can't get anyone to come get it. If I was selling it at this price 8 months ago people would be stabbing each other to get a stage 3 at this price! If I don't get any hits in a couple days, I'm gonna list it on ebay and hopefully that will get some more exposure. Any ideas of where else to list it? I have it on VWvortex and other Audi sites already and craigslist.

Only thing i was gonna say was CraigsList. I sold my Evo on there. Took about a month from when i put it up for sale to when it sold.

if i had a payment on my b5 id get rid of it too. nice choice. i would of went for something audi/vw but the mazdaspeeds have come a long way since the pos MSP.

Don't take this as an attack on S4's becuase I love mine, but in my opinion, I would have to disagree. This isn't a mazda 3 that you can get for $16k new. The original window sticker came with the car and it is over $33k as it's configured. But price is neither here nor there, I think the interior in this car is every bit as nice as the S4, in many cases better. For the obvious reasons that the Mazda is 6 years newer so it has the navi and the Bose in this car actually sounds good. Pretty much every B5 S4 has a crappy stock bose, mine goes in and out and sounds incredibly tinny and staticy.

The Mazda has heated leather seats and power drivers seat. I like the leather in this car better because it isn't so slippery so it's much better when cornering. It also has auto dimming mirrors and heated mirrors with compass inside. Some things like the glove box arent as solid, but I do care about that, big deal. But the center console in the Mazda is MUCH better than the cheap creaky thing in the S4! Plus the styling in the Mazda I like better, it has aluminum type trim instead of the weird looking wood type trim in the S4. The shifter in the Mazda is leagues better than the S4, small, tight and solid. No more 4 feet of shifter throw! I LOVE the gearbox on this!

Amazingly, the back seat in the Mazda actually accommodates people! Amazing thought! I never understood why the trunk in the S4s and A4s were like 30 cubic feet and there is 4 inches of legroom in the back seat. Just silly. When I picked up the car I was in the drivers seat and I am 6 foot, and my buddy who is 6'3" was behind me with plenty of legroom to spare! I like it!

As for the outside, the stock 18" wheels are sweet looking. and the styling is very nice IMO, the headlights look mean. All in all, I think think this car is everybit as nice as my S4 and much better in many areas.

With the new Cobalt SS being a single turbo, that things is looking better to me than the MazdaSpeed3, I mean the things hadns the Speed3 its ass around the track!! (and I hate GM w/ a passion!!)

I would too. But when it comes to the MazdaSpeed series, i would get the 3 over the 6. But again, i would take the new Turbo Cobalt SS over both. Unless i lived in an area where it snows alot.

I just looked at some pics of the cobalt and I really hate the look of them, they look incredibly cheap. And I don't really care about the performance as much. Ive owned a stage 3, Ive had my fun, I just want something that can push me back in my seat and put a smile on my face and wont make me cry when I see the repair bills!

Haha, I mean, Factory performance Stages and than they warrenty anything if it breaks? That is pretty good. I agree that they dont look the best, but for the money you can beat the performance of a new car

Yeah it seems pretty quick, but looks and quality are a little more important to me. Plus lots of power and FWD FTL... But to each their own. If I wanted a ton of power for cheap I would buy a SRT-4, but we all know they are a huge turd. The cobalt seems just too similar to me. My 2 cents.

Congrats on the new purchase man. I love the Mazdaspeed series and about bought a speed3 before i got the S4. The only reason i got the S4 is because i wanted reasonably cheap payments. A good friend of mine had a speed6 and he loved it. Its much more of a drivers car than the S4. You feel more connected to the road...the steering/handling is crisp, the gearbox is amazingly precise, throttle response is great, and its much easier to get through a corner using the pedals than with an S4. Most German companies build cars for the drivers, but all Japanes companies build their cars AROUND drivers, which is why they usually feel more "connected" than other makes. They also have surprisingly nice interiors. They arent as "fancy" as the S4's, but the quality is superb and everything is layed out perfectly.

Also...welcome to the world of quality Japanese engineering and reliability. You wont have to constantly worry about something breaking, and if it does youll be able to sleep at night knowing you wont have to pay exorbant prices for parts and labor lol

Well its a boosted 4cyl so im sure there will be a few problems here and there, but nothing like most people experience with the b5s4. Its also alot easier to work on those cars. I think Audi designed their cars so that you have to take it to a dealership to get anything done.

Personally, i think you made a good choice. You got a hell of a deal and anyone would be retarded to pass it up lol.
