Ya thats what my price is shipped if we get 10 people. Also it can be anything from 3000K to 8000K. All the its will be plug and play and they will utilize the new generation super small ballasts.

I currently have them on my car but will wait 2 weeks to see if i will have any problems come up.

If i will have no problems i will make a install post with pictures and have the group buy set up.

Also i can get low beams and high beams and even other setups for other cars.

Just waitin to see how mine hold up. Damn picky Audi A4! [:D]

Here is what I'm working on. I used to own a Legacy GT. I know he offered life time warranties on lots of his kits. It's through xenonexpert.com check out the links below.

He has offered $140 a kit w/ bulb out warning cancelers.

We also have the Xtreme kit here: http://www.xenonexpert.com/xtreme_hid_sale.html

And with Philips bulbs here: http://www.xenonexpert.com/xtreme_hid_h7sale.html

If you guys would like the to do Apexcone kits with a lifetime warranty for the GB, I'll be more than happy to coordinate everything and get it taken care of. I noticed that there wasnt a vendor was attached to this yet, so I thought I'd chime in. They have 35 and 55 watt kits in basically any size color temp as well. [up]

You got it. Lets do this. Here are the details-

Looks like there are plenty of buyers so far, so assuming we have 10 people I can offer it for $100+ $15 shipping anywhere in the US. That includes any color temperature you would like and 35 watt ballasts. Once we have 10 orders, We'll charge and ship out all the kits.

How does this sound to everyone? If everything looks good, then we're ready to rock on our end.

I'm glad I've come across this as I was already looking into putting HID in my fog lights. How much of a plug and play kit is this? When looking at the back piece of a B5 S4 fog light I don't see how you can plug the bulb into the holder without having to use a dremel to make a cut out and then silicone the bulb in/on. Is this what I will have to do in order to mount the bulb in the fog? Reason I ask was because when I purchased a "plug and play" HID kit for my B6 I literally took out my stock bulb, twisted the new on and then simply plugged in the after market harness to the stock harness and I was done. Can you please tell me which way I'm going to have to go about it. Is Cutting/dremel and silicone involved?

As far as I know, B5 A4 fogs dont require any modding, but I think the S4 ones do. As far as plug and play goes, it basically means it'll work without having to do any crazy wire splicing and such, not so much that the housing wont need some modification. From what I understand, the S4 one need to be cut out but its not that big of a deal. I believe Devious27t was going to do that for his S4.

Ok guys, to make it a little easier for those who prefer paypal, I've made a link that should take care of the payment process. Please make sure you specify the year and model of your car as well as the color temperature and your username on audizine in the comments section so I can check you off the list and make sure you get the right kit. Am thinking to get a pair of these, but do you have any pics of how the Sky Blue (8000K), the White with a Blue Hue (6000K) or the Dark Sky blue (10000K) look like in action?? Am thinking of these 3 colors coz of my blue A4...

xraycer2012

from my knowledge, I think what your looking for is the 8000K temp. the 6000K is a white light with a slight blue hue to it and 10000K is blue with a purplish hue to it. 8000K from my understanding is the bluest light. I know there are some comparison pictures on some ebay auctions, so you might want to look there for some pics as well.

IMO you don't want anymore than 8000k. 10000k will for sure look ricey with 6000k being ideal. Stock Xenons are 4300k I believe and Ecode Bixenons have 6000k IIRC.

Partially right, young squire. [>_<] Ecodes dont come with 6000k, its still the same 4300k. The projectors in ecodes are less restrictive and have a more precise cutoff pattern which makes them seem a bit brighter and more colored.

After 6000k, you begin to lose lumens which is the overall lighting capability of the bulbs. They will appear to be brighter, and more colored, but you'll lose a good deal of visibility after 6000k. I'd describe 6000k as looking about how BMW X5 headlights look. They stay a bit more whitish blue as opposed to 4300k that almost looks halogen like after it warms up.

8000k has a good deal of blue and purple hues to it, and 10000k is a lot more purple ish.

I did some googling... heres 8000k on a Jag

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a379/310jag/hid10.jpg

and heres 6000k on a jeep.

I'd still strongly recommend against going any higher than 6000k because of the drop in usable light. 8000k is almost 30% less usable as compared to the amount of lumens a 4300k light puts out. 6000 loses a tad too, but its not too drastic.

Nick hit the nail on the head. 6000K is the highest temp you can go without losing lumens. My family has a BMW X5 and those headlights are definitely blue, with no hint of purple in them. From the sounds of it, 6000K is what you want. That's what I'm getting too for my low beams.

Now that I have seen the pics, I think I like and will go with the 8000K. For my headlights I have HID with 4500K since they are pure white(they came with the car, so not sure 100% about the color), so thinking to go 8000K for the fogs coz I dont want both the headlights and fogs to have the same color (aesthetics).

What do you think Nick?

If you go 8000K your fogs will definitely be a different color than your headlights.

Yep.

Found some video-examples:

8000K:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-ySEBISxUQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL5uZjQ9M5c&NR=1

6000K:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gar83swj22U&feature=related

8000k looks "too blue" from what I can see. 6000K seems more stable, but the videos are not consistent. On some videos one of the two colors look deeper than on other videos & vice-versa. Going 4500K on my headlights, I think it looks better to go from there to 6000K than to 8000K. Still not 100% decided though.

AWESOME! i put mine in today and it took no time at all. i went from stock halogens to the HIDS and what a difference! they are not hard to install at all. put all the connections together and cut a small hole in the rear water tight cover for the bulb. make it just big enough for the largest connection to go through. put the rubber grommet in the hole so its tight. take the two little exposed connector and plug the red with the red on the original headlight plug. and the black with the off color. mount the ballast on the inside of the fender just below and behind the light. WALLAH. HIDS.

Those of you who asked. This offer is still going if you like, since we hit 10, they'll let me keep it going since it hasnt been long.

Also, for the Warranty, you would just need to send in the non-working part to be tested, and they'll send out a new one.

Fogs are installed. Very easy install. Only slight problem i had was the notches on the bulb had to be shaved down slightly to make them fit into my fog housings.... easy job to fix though, just had to be very careful.. hopefully everything runs smooth because i havent driven around with them on for an extended time yet, probably wont either because its going to look dumb until i can put my lowbeams in too..

Only thing i was confused by is that the rubber plug thats a couple inches down the wire from the bulb... it wasnt used at all in my install [confused] for the fogs... I looked at the pics xraycer took for his DIY [up] and he used them but his fog housings after different then mine. My housings do not have a back cover that goes over the back end of the bulb so i found no use for it.. anyone else have the same? I have a 2004 A4 1.8tqm with stock halogen housings. the pics in xraycers DIY seem to be a b5?... His DIY should be up soon [hail]

There is no extra special pricing, this is already extremely low. I've yet to hear of anyone having any heat issues with HID kits in their fogs, so I think you should be safe. [up]

The ones for $50 in the link have huge ballasts that I would not want to try to fit in any Audi. The ones in this group buy super small. Well worth the extra money and it's still not very expensive.

Also, I just sent Anthony an email about approving the DIY since I know there a bunch of you guys waiting for it. Hopefully he can get it posted soon, since I think i did a pretty good job and made sure everything made sense before I submitted it.

i believe th group buy also included the lifetime warranty... if you purchase the apexcone kit, you have to pay extra for a life time warrant i believe.... regardless i still think it was a good deal.. i installed my fogs only so far and they look good, very easy install, and all the wiring was already done for you, plug n play.... plus autobahn gives great customer service if you need help or have any questions.... but then again ive never ordered anything from the other hid manufacturers or distributors to compare.

What are you trying to prove here? If you have questions about the product than that's great. We're all willing to help you out, but don't argue the price. Get them for $70 there. Nobody's trying to make you buy them here. Personally, I'd rather support our AZ advertisers since they always bring us great deals, but hey, that's just me.

Note: For those of you that got low beams, you can follow the exact same procedure as the fog lights. The only difference is that you drill the hole into the little door behind the low beam bulb instead or the fog light.

Well, since no one posted pics of their HIDs fogs, I will start first. Thanks Nick for this great product!

On a B6, its noteworthy to mention that
1) We do not need to remove the headlights
2) Its 100% pure plug and play
3) Unlike the B5, there is absolutely no need to dig any holes, using solder or anything else but Ducktape.
4) Always unplug the battery before proceeding with this mod.

I did remove one headlight to look at how things are from behind the bumper and to make sure everything is in place. Ok pics time.

During install, half way done:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID_3.jpg

I carefully taped things together so that its easier to attach it to the car and ducktaped all the electrical connections to be 100% waterproof:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID_4.jpg

When finished:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID_1.jpg

With the Xenon headlights on:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID_2.jpg

At night:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID_5.jpg

Its actually much better than the stock fog lights, much more visibility, and more importantly, very cool [up]

boravr6
10-20-2008, 08:44 AM
so if you dont need to remove the headlight.. where did you stick that huge gaggle of wires in pic #2?

Thanks for posting pics! [up]

Oh and what color code thing did you use? the wattage?

jackyaudi
10-20-2008, 09:02 PM
- I forgot how many watts the unit consumes, but I am assuming it sucks less power than the stock ones.

- Here is a pic of where I put them. The right side had a place as if it was the perfect fit for the ballast and wires. The left side has much more space, but had to be attached more carefully for it not the be loose:

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e259/thesamsam/HIDs/HID6.jpg

They also sent me some zipties to keep the wiring together. No offense to Jacky, but that duct tape mod is ghetto! lol The adhesive will not hold for long since heat and moisture will break down its matrix.

No offenses taken at all [:D]

OK, the whole point of the duck tape is 3 purposes: 1) Waterproofing (cannot do that with the zipties), 2) Heat isolator (to some extent) 3) hold everything together and then with the car (works extremely well). Everything is still exactly as I put it, in place, without any problems. But to everyone their own ways to do things :)

Glad you got it working :)

I had to pay for customs as well, cannot remember, it was $14 or $30..freaking customs, bunch of thieves.

BTW, I noticed that the available space in the lower bumper on the B6 2002 is much more than the B6 2004+, at least from what I can tell from your pictures. I could probably squeeze at least 5 or 7 ballasts on the left side, and about 2-3 on the right side.

So is anyone with these on a B6 getting the bulb out warning?

poopypants
12-21-2008, 02:00 PM
The connection is backwards on the B6. You have to trim the little tab and flip it upside down. Ive noticed on the B6 that our fog housings do not work with HID. The light gets scattered rather than concentrated down the road. We need a shield for the Xenon bulb so the light can bounce back to the housing and concentrate it forward rather than the sides. Im not happy with my hundred dollars spent.

boravr6
12-21-2008, 05:49 PM
i just put them in for the look when i drive during the day ... (If im gonna be stuck with DRL.. they may as well look good)

But indeed as far as functionality does... they flood the light and its not so great for night driving. I get flashed if i have em on.

xraycer2012
12-31-2008, 06:44 PM
They should be great for night driving. You should check and see how your lights are aimed. It sounds like the lights may be aimed too high. At night, park your car about 10-15 feet away from a wall or garage door and see where the cut off of light is. It should be at around the same level as the top of your bumper for fog lights and the top of your hood for low beams.

EDIT: if you fogs are aimed too high you can use a shim on the top screw(s) to bring the light down lower to the ground.

bulb out warnings and the HID dont ignite. Thought i might have damages 1 light in the swap process so i tried both and both failed.
