Their website is Matrixintegrated.cc but its getting revamped right now.

I'm not sure how much stuff they make. They are mostly a race/parts shop. I'm pretty sure they make an intake for the B6 S4 though. I have dealt with them before. Good people.

You can give Jeremy a call at (503) 443-1141

Hey P-Diddy,

We are manufacturing our intake as I type. At this time I don't have any pics or specs(we like to remain confidential as many companies like to copy our products). As the component gets closer to being ready to ship, I will gladly let you know more details.

How the intake came about...
We are the NW distributor for GIAC software and helped GIAC Flash the first '04 B6 A4 1.8T in the country. We then tested and developed the very first GIAC Flash chip for the B6 S4s on our AWD Mustang chassis dyno. We took our work one step further and developed an intake setup for the B6 S4 in which GIAC customized their standard chip for. So, do you have to use our intake with the GIAC B6 S4 chip? No. Is the GIAC chip and Matrix intake optimized to work in unison for the best power gain? Yes.

On a B6 S4 that already had high-flow downpipes and cat-back exhaust, we saw a 24whp and 24wtq gain with the GIAC chip and our intake;
http://www.matrixintegrated.cc/Feature/04%20S4%20GIAC%20Matix.jpg

Besides software and an intake for your S4, we are the NW distributor center for STaSIS suspensions/brakes/differentials, and among other lines, we also are direct distributors of other fine products like Samco, Schrick, Recaro, Volk Racing wheels, the US dealer for Omori gauges for Audi/VW, etc.

If there are any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,
Jeremy

Hi,

My real name is Eric but you guys can call me Jimmy.

I'm intersted in the intake and chip. You have already answered that you cant send pictures but what will you be charging for the intake alone?

I am a decent mechanic and understand chiping in the old days we soldered on a new eeprom with new software but how does GIAC work? Will it affect smog? I understand the software is undetectable? What all do I need to buy for the software? I will be using 91 OCT Cali pump gas.

thank you.

Hey Eric,

Thanks for the call. It was great to speak with you.

Intake pricing will be released in about a month or so.

The software for the B6 S4 is $595 and takes about 12min to download. There are also multiple files available (stock($50), anti-theft($100), valet($100), race gas($100)). If you have a VAG-COM you can switch from stock to pump gas and back and forth. If not, or if you want to be able to switch to other different files, the new GIAC handheld Flashloader is available($150) which allows you to switch to those files at the touch of a button.

The software is undetectable, especially as I explained to you on the phone(in comparison to other software companies);

One big reason why the GIAC Flash safeguards your factory warranty better than "other companies'" software is that there is an internal flash counter and security access monitor in the VAG ECU that shows how many times the ECU has been "flashed" as well as how many times someone has gotten through the security firewall(this happens when you Flash program the ECU).

Every time one flashes either a stock file or performance file with "another companies'" software, the internal flash counter is increased by a count of one, as well as it is noted that the security firewall has been breached.

With GIAC software, no matter how many times we Flash the ECU with a stock file or performance file, the internal flash counter will NOT increase and no red flags are raised that the security firewall has been breached.

Why is this important to maintaining your warranty?

Every once in awhile the Audi/VW dealership will have software updates of their own for known drivability issues, etc...so, if you go into the dealer complaining that your car behaves a certain way, drives like so, etc, they might "Flash" your ECU with an updated version of software that might be known to cure the issue.

Well, let's say there have only been 3 software updates released by VAG. If you have been Flash-chipped with "another companies'"software (remember, your internal flash counter increases every time you get Flashed with them), your internal flash counter could read 5, 10, 20, etc(essentially a number larger than the 3 factory software updates). The dealer can see this and bingo, they know that someone has been accessing/Flash chipping the ECU.

With the GIAC Flashloader, before you visit the dealer, you can switch the file back to stock. If the dealer looks at your internal flash count, it will not be any different than stock or how many times they might have updated your software, so no red flags are thrown and no questions are asked.

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

Best,
Jeremy

Thx Carson.

We're not by a cement place. They're building million dollar condos nearby so they have been moving a bunch of dirt.

Playing with the phone? [rolleyes] [;)]

Thought you were staying stock Kenny? [:D]

If your S4 project starts to look anything like your E46.. [:D] [:D]

Jeremy,

What gains (if any) will the software have on a tiptronic B6 S4 - as a stand alone mod and also if in conjunction with the intake?

Be aware that the DP's will void the warranty per Audi.

When I need warranty work done I will take them off. Its a hassle but I dont want to lose it.

wait what? DPs will void warranty on the ENTIRE car? Or just on the stock cats and exhaust?

Audi has to prove that your DP's caused the problem.

ok yea that's what I thought. I didn't think they could deny you warranty on your AC or something just cause you have DPs. Phew I almost considered not getting DPs there for a second [:p]

yeah. It depends on the dealer but they might try to say shit. If you have a engine problem just change out the DPs.

There is a guy in SD who has a where house with a lift. Anyone can bring thier own tools. use his stuff for free.

I spoke with the dealer about this, they have been ordred by Audi to automatically try and get out of any repair due to mods. But if you start giving them sh!t they will back off. Words like "SUE" and others work well.

Audi issued a statement that DP's will void the warranty on the motor due to the increased power. If you had a major engine failure like has been seen on the M3's they will say it is too bad. You can pursue legal options, but it will probably cost as much as replacing the motor.

That being said, if I keep this car I am putting the DP's on. I will go to the mat if they try to deny me.

Can I ask all the people worried about warranty. Why the hell would you bring in the car to the dealer with your mods on? Why not just take them off and not chance it. If you had every mod out there for this car it would take you maybe 4 hours to strip it down.

A full exhaust is not exactly easy to remove. The intake is not an issue and you can just flip the programming on the ECU with GIAC. The way I see it the only real issue is DP's.
MO

BTW Jeremy what is the real release date on the intake? It has been "30 Days" for a while now[;)]

Sorry guys, for some reason I wasn't being emailed with the notifications.

We made some more last minute revisions, insuring that it is perfect. Nothing leaves here until it is that way.

I will do my best to update with a better ETA.

Hey all,

I just wanted to keep you in the loop on our B6 S4 cold air intake. We just received word that the CAI we designed (the intake is manufactured by one of our partners, Alta Performance) on our in-house Mustang AWD chassis dyno, for optimal use with GIAC programming, will be ready for sale in about 4 weeks. I am not able to share pictures of our setup for a few more weeks, but I can pass on that the price of our full CAI kit will be $429 retail, with a limited introductory price of $399. From the numerous independent dyno tests of our CAI vs the competition, we have found our CAI to make almost 3times as much power as the competition.

Please let me know if you’re interested and I’d be happy to keep you updated over the next few weeks; jeremy@matrixintegrated.cc

Best regards,
Jeremy

Damn I hate to wait. I don't even have the car yet and I'm salivating over the opportunity to put in that software, intake and downpipes. Someone here said that you can't have a V8 without a new exhaust system. He/She was exactly right. I test drove the B6 S4 Convertible with tiptronic, not my cup of tea but wanted to get a feel of the V8 and while it sounded gnarly, a new system could make it really growl.....makes me happy to think that I got BMW to take my new M3 back via the Lemon Law. That I6, while sweet, just doesn't have the V8 sound.
