Well the modding options on the B8 S4 are gonna be huge if they use a beefed up version of the same motor in the B8 RS4 as is currently the plan. People will be able to upgrade their B8S4 motors to the level of the RS4, or at least close to it. I'm super excited to see where this goes :)

Don't get your hopes up on modding if you're planning on getting the S-Tronic as I am. Unfortunately I believe it's already at it's torque limit.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i did hear the B8 rs4 will have the same 4.2 V8 but will boast 460-480hp. Forgot what site i heard this from, but isn't the rs4 pretty much already maxed now without F.I.?

^ yes. September issues came out. Which means new car guides and all the 09 model year changes.

Yo op, Caranddriver always get great times compared to other car magazines. I would suggest you to read other car sites/magazines too like edmunds. In edmunds test, they couldn't even break 15 in the 1/4 mile.
Don't get your hopes up on modding if you're planning on getting the S-Tronic as I am. Unfortunately I believe it's already at it's torque limit.
I read somewhere that the S-tronic could handle upto 406lb/ft ....!!!

That's correct for the one they are putting in the B8 S4 (DL-550 - 406lb-ft or 550Nm). There's also another one (DL-750 - 553lb-ft or 750Nm) in the works for even higher torque capability.
