English is not my first language...so I am a bit confused at some of the words/terms ppl use.

Car related:
1) why do ppl say 'murdered out'? where did that come from?

Non-car related:
2) Why do ppl say smarty 'pants'... Why 'pants' but not 'shirts', 'tie'...etc.[:D]
3) having a 'BALL'... Why 'BALL'? [confused]

Anyone? [:D]

having a ball: i believe it stems from the act of going to a ball/party
smarty pants: really nothing interesting to say except the smarty was used in tom sayer (http://www.mrsmartypants.com/whois.html)
murdered out: idk

"Murdered Out"

When a vehicle with black paint has black wheels, trim, and a dark window tint.

Origins? My best guess would be hearse references, or perhaps the using of a dark car at night for drive by shootings (so as not to be identified).

Well I am English, but that doesn't necessarily help.

Smarty pants: well we say this jokingly to people who think they know better than us or have a clever answer for something. Pants (underwear) are the significant thing close to you and possibly relate to your knowledge (struggling here). Look at other opinion related things with that in mind, that part of the body comes up quite a bit....

BALL is easy, a Ball is a very fancy party going back centuries. Big money from the land owners made balls the place to be and be seen at.

Best I can do [:)]
