Too funny. Here's another story about American's not knowing the geography here. Friend's pumping gas in the summer in Meadow Lake, it's probably in the middle of Saskatchewan. Guy pulls up with a big pickup truck with a trailer towing two snowmobiles. Friend asks the guy where he's going while he's filling up his truck and the guy's driving north for some snowmobiling.

Oh, did I forget to mention that it was in the middle of JULY!?!??? Friend told him best of luck, keep driving north!

I saw people at the border once in July and they were heading to Blue Mountain... with ski's on the roof rack.

It's funny how the Americans or the rest of the world for that mattre think Canada = Cold = Snow = Northpole. Doesn't matter where we say we actually live, they think we are covered in snow year around.

Didn't Edmonton just get a dump of snow a couple of weeks ago!?? [;)]
hehe

Actually, I'll be in Calgary in 3 weeks and I'm hoping it won't snow by then![:D]

You guys DO get wacky weather though..what's the saying..."if you don't like the weather in Calgary, wait 15 minutes" !!!

60% chance of freezing rain or snow on Thursday... can't wait.

..."if you don't like the weather in Calgary, wait 15 minutes" !!! is about right. When Chinook hit us from the BC, the temp can go from 10 below to 10 above in two hours.

lol.. I race in Canada... and spend a lot of time there and when I get people asking about it - especially from the south... they are like.. "wow, it must be cold up there to race isn't it?"... the best is just to go along.... tell them we usually race with studded tires all the time in case there is a freak blizzard and tell them we use metal window nets because the polar bears can slash through the nylon ones too easily.

[rolleyes] Yes, I am an American.. but I do not vouche for some of us. [;)]
