Rant: Hate those people who turn REAL fast then SLOOOOOWWW down

I hate those drivers who turn to cut you off just to drop down to the speed limit or below it. When there is NO ONE BEHIND YOU or 1 or 2 cars. So you and EVERYONE need to hit their brakes. Then they get mad at you for tailgating. They are in SUCH A HURRY they need to CUT YOU OFF then slow right down to the speed limit or below it. They couldn't wait 15 seconds for you to pass them. Then if its 2 lanes they stay in the left lane and you have to pass them on the right. Since they are in a hurry they go speed limit in the left lane?? Then once you and five other cars pass them on the right they signal and get over RIGHT AWAY!! [headbang] thats all




also: I don't condone speeding or going over the posted limit. I do and thats my choice, i don't endanger peoples lives. I don't weave in and out of traffic. If someone if going slow i pass them and get back over. I don't tailgate unless i get cut off and hope the person have common sense to get over. I ALWAYS USE MY SIGNAL even with no one on the rd. I can't stand people who don't signal..So we don't need to get into all of that...

I concur, people generally are stupid. They have zero common sence when they're behind the wheel.Also, does driver's ed teach people to move out of the fast lane if someone is going faster or is this an unspoken rule because few actually move out of the way.

First of all, thanks for the Bi-Weekly rant... I couldn't think of anything for this edition.

I totally agree with you and seriously hate when people pull moves like these. In Northern Virginia, there are a lot of people that need to have their licenses revoked (especially the asian population: yes that was a stereotype and if you don't like it whatever. I'm tired of having to pull evasive manuevers to avoid asians who don't care to look where they are going. I also work in an area where there are a lot of asian stores and businesses and it's wonderful to see them 7-point turn their BMW 745's into parking spots. I know that every ethnicity has it's bad drivers, but I am convinced that 90% of Asians cannot drive. I'm aware that in Asia, people do not really obey traffic signs and it's chaotic from the videos I've seen and stories I've heard. But come on, you're in America and we have traffic laws... Sorry for the side rant).

Back on topic... I really wish the U.S. was like driving in Europe. When I went over there in 2003 I was amazed when I saw barely anyone driving in the left lane. The only time someone would be in the left lane was if they were hauling ass or passing someone. Too bad people in this country are too self absorbed and think that they are entitled to do whatever they want, therefore I do not think we will ever see a change... Perhaps maybe if they passed some laws and started enforcing it? That might be a better way for Virginia to raise money than to charge thousands of dollars for reckless driving tickets like they tried to do last year.

very true glassnpowder..NY law states "left lane ONLY to pass" which i obey but when i am doing 80 in a 65 with 5 other cars and we have a car doing 65 in the left lane w.o other cars around it becomes a saftey issue for everyone and cops don't enforce it...

Also in italy i did notice the left 2 lanes on the highway were ALWAYS empty unless a benz of macbach or bentley were doing 90+ flying

How about I add to this rant with Ididots and Getting on the Freeway?

I hate, hate, HATE the DOUCHEBAGS who enter freeway on-ramps and don't accelerate up to highway speed by the time it turns into a lane. I literally want to put a grill guard on my Audi and start ramming people Mad Max style, it makes me so mad. Almost every single car has the ability to accelerate reasonably, yet you get these assholes who get on a 65mph limit freeway going 40. Not only is it obnoxious to me, it constantly makes it harder for people who were driving in the right lane at the time to either slow down, speed up or change lanes. I'm actually pretty sure this is how rush hour traffic materializes.

Going along with this, what's even worse is when you get one of these tools who will veer over out of the on-ramp across all lanes of traffic, most of the time without signaling, and most of the time in an uglyass American SUV. They don't pause in each lane, they just plow straight over without any regard for others on the road, and like their life is so much more important that they just can't waste the time getting over to the fast lane. Makes me wish I had a James Bond car to shoot missles out of my headlights and blow them off the face of the Earth.

Amen Brotha! Definitely dangerous to slow down to a crawl on an on ramp. Especially for the people who are behind them on the on ramp who are glancing in their mirror to see where they can fit in. Has anyone done the xenon to stinger missle mod yet??

I can't stand the people that are too distracted, deaf, or retarded, to realize that their F*CKING BLINKER HAS BEEN ON FOREVER!!! Sometimes I am driving beside a person, and their blinker is on so I feel like being nice and slowing down to let them over. But they don't, they just sit there because they are too stupid to realize that their blinker is on, so now I have slowed down, which has pissed off everyone behind me. I hate people who are making right turns and go wide into the left lane. So you're getting to the light in the left lane of a 2 lane road and the idiot making a right turn goes into the left lane, even though there is no one in the lane to the right. AND THEN THEY GO SLOW. fking idiots.

so many true stories in this thread. I encounter prett much all of the above posted scenarios every day and I spend 10 mins a day on the freeway.

Btw... I was lucky and didn't have any major activation issues due to activating a brand new line for my new phone. The phone worked fine, I just couldn't sync it with iTunes until the servers were back up. I Waited about an hour and around 11:45 iTunes was working again. Mobile me is awesome!

So true!! DC area drivers absolutely suck! Main complaints:

1. They don't understand that when you cut in front of someone, try and realize your mistake and go FASTER not SLOWer!

2. Some idiots drive really really slow when making a right turn! Below 15 mph is outrageous and very dangerous to other drivers on roads where everyone is going 40-50

3. Please don't go 55 on the left lane of I495. 70 at least!

4. Soccer moms need to have small cars, when they are in suv's in our area it is dangerous

5. Prius drivers, if you have to drive slower than all the other cars on the road to get good fuel economy then you're stupid for buying that car

6. Some idiots leave 2-3 car lengths of room in front of them at stop light and in traffic. Not only does this make you look brain dead but it increases your chances of getting rear ended

7. Merging is not that hard, really, its not

8. The green turn signal means GO not stop and look both ways twice

I agree with a4dc89 and glassnpowder about DC area drivers and asians. It's not stereotyping, it's just truthfully explaining what you see everyday.

You can almost predict when it's going to happen. You see a car that looks like they want to change lanes, then BAM...no signal, cuts you off, slows down and proceeds to go strait for another mile. Purpose? None. When I see it coming i just let off the gas or change lanes to 'accomodate' them. I pass them and look over and ofcourse they have NO idea what they just did, nor that you were even there.

Soooo true, it has definitely gotten to the point where you can tell when it's about to happen. I also love pulling up next to people after they cut me off and give them a quick little stare. Most of the time they have no clue what just happened... I mean come on, my fucking car is bright red... How did you not see it, the cops sure as hell do?!?!

Today I was heading home, typical traffic on the street i haft to take to get to the house, and it goes from two lanes to one and its a 45 mph speed limit. Well it was to the point where i needed to merge over and had plenty, ton's of room, at least two car length's between the two vehicle's that where in the lane. Well i turn my blinker on and merge over and the asshole behind decides to speed up, then act like a sudden accident is going to occur and lay's on his horn at me! Seriously what the fuck is up with people today? I've never seen such worse drivers in California, and im from the Baltimore/DC area, yes their bad area's, but damn this whole state is the worst ever.
