10/2 Mt. Hamilton drive...

Is it just me, or did that thread mysteriously just vanish? Was it postponed again or cancelled? Anyone? Buehler? I sent Daryl an e-mail to inquire but haven't heard back as of yet.

Changed the subject line so as not to confuse anyone. Thanks for the update. If there was never a thread and I'm just imagining things, it wouldn't be the first time. I'm old you know.....

It's still on Dan. Daryl recently did a recon drive and the road is in good condition. I'll get the details and post them up, but the start is once again in Livermore and should be the same time as well (10am).

can you confirm? I got the email about the roads bring good, etc... but that seems like it was a while ago. and I have not heard or seen anything lately, and there isn't any news on the website either.

It's still on. I received this e-mail from Daryl on Friday.

"It's still on Dan! This is the final date unless it rains."

Hello Everyone!

The NorCal Audi Club Mt. Hamilton Drive is on!!! Saturday, October
2nd, 2004 @ 10AM is the new date. I drove the route this past
Sunday and all roads are open. It also looks like the fire crews
did some street sweeping as well because there is much less gravel
on the road than earlier in the month.

The meeting place will be the auxiliary parking lot of Robertson
Sports Park in Livermore. This lot is just before the intersection
of South Livermore Ave & Cocannon Rd. When coming out on North
Livermore Ave., it then turns into South Livermore Ave & the lot is
on your right hand side. We plan to leave just after 10AM, so
please be on time. We will consider running 2 separate groups
depending upon how many people show up. We've done this drive
enough times to know the route & execute it with little problems.

We will be making th! e usual stop at Togo's in San Jose off of the
Landess exit. I will be using the old maps & info sheet that Oliver
Kenkel (RIP) made when he first developed the drive. Depending
upon how everyone feels, we will stop at Togo's, or continue out
Calaveras Rd. into Fremont. There is not really a place to stop &
say goodbye if we do Calaveras, so it might be scratched again.

Be sure to bring your FRS radios for communication purposes. Cell
phone coverage is spotty at best & there are NO GAS STATIONS until
we arrive in San Jose...SO FILL UP!!! Other than that, I hope to
see
everyone there & be safe until then!

Ben, won't be able to go after all. My GF's gotta spend the day with her Mom, so I'm planning on finally adjusting the ride height on the coilovers and puttingh on the new wheels I got. Gonna prep it for the much needed alignment (which is why I was driving the mighty GTi to Go Karting last night). Thanks anyway![cool]
