Hi!
Just wanted to post some pictures of my B6 to B7 conversion:)
The car is a 2004 A4 1,9TDi Quattro.
It started about a year ago when a friend of mine told me about a new RS4 interior. Bought that, and then there was no stopping!
I will let the pictures talk:

Now I'm off to install my KW suspension and new brakes.. Hope they will fit:)

But of course!

Pretty damn crazy. Although, if you're keeping the same engine perhaps I should move this to the B6 A4 Forum...or wait, would it be the B7 A4 Forum... [>_<]

You have not seen the prices for these type of cars in Norway have you:)

Questions: What do you have planned for the exhaust? Perhaps your stock exhaust w/just the RS4 Oval tips transfered.
That's a pretty unique color choice. Is that an Audi OEM color that is available in the Norway? Or just your creation.
It looks great either way.
wow, that's pretty amazing! Looking forward to seeing the final product, but one of your pics got me thinking... how sick would it look if you kept it matte black?

+1 to all of the above! I guess this is not your daily driver since you would be out a car for a while.
Those RS4 seats look more sporty/race car-like than the ones we have here. Ours are just the S4 Recaro's with RS4 lettering.
Also, you guys watch Nascar in Norway?

Aside from the model year, my vote is that it's now a B7 since really, the exterior is the only difference.
Wow - amazing project. [hail]

For exhaust I want a stainless stell type from Supersprint for TDi, but it will have to wait because of cashflow.. So for now I will install oval tips from Porsche...
Paint is part Chrysler, but with some custom touch:)

Hope to be finished soon..
I think the seats are more common in europe. They are very sporty. You need a crowbar to get out of them... not for old people!
I love nascar, and my friend too (his garage). I've only been to one race, but we can follow some races on Eurosport..

Only in Europe do these crazy chop weld and full rebuild exists. Its sick and im loving it, Although it must have cost ALOT to do the full body conversion.
Theres another sick B6 Avant build in the Avant forum, where a guy did a full strip down of his car and wide bodied it. I was following that one, now theres two to keep an eye out for.
Sickness.

Weeeell, It's not as bad as you would think.... the hourly labour cost in bodyshops here is about $150-165, but when we to all the work on the car ourselves, it's not to bnad. Billi's doing all the mechanics, and I'm doing the bodywork[:)]

That's the craziest thing I have every seen! More power to you. No pun intended. Why did you not order the titanium mirrors as well? Or are you matching them to the color of the car? Love the Nascar banner, great touch. I am very interested on how much you paid for the brake conversion? Are you going to make a post with part numbers? or would that take as long as building this project? [:)]
Awesome. Since you have the TDI, I would do a veggie oil conversion and do some engine work, so you can haul ass on old chicken wing grease for basically fuel free costs. That would make me drool all day long.
BTW. I love the Volvo. That thing is delicious !

Probably is, but when you see the price of buying a RS4 over here, thing probably makes more sence...
1 US $ = 5,5 Norwegian Kroner...
this is a used car (http://www.finn.no/finn/car/object?finnkode=13421370&sid=xz4cbaITfSM534009&WT.svl=Link)

I live in norway. if i were to put in an rs4 engine i would have to be a millionare!!
the reason why i'm doing this is to have a car that looks nice. it is going to be my daily driver, so i also need something that i can afford to drive to work everyday. diesel / gas prices over here are also twice as much as you pay.
and another thing: if i wanted to swap engine, i would go for something a little more special, like an 4.0 v8 tdi! i think that would give me lots more torq:)
It's ok that everyone has their own opinion, but this is my build and i'm doing what's right for me.

1,62 is cheap!!!
Just calculated our price: 2,63 dollar per litre! Diesel is close to the same, but they use half as much...
I will settle for bodymods now. maybe after i'm finished with my garage and the rest on my house, I will look for a new engine:)

I just came back from Trinidad today and I could not believe the price of gas there, premium there is $2.70/L and the exchange rate is 6 to 1, so a gallon is $1.70USD. Their leaded gas which most use as there doesn't seem to be any emission std's is $1.50/L is $0.94USD. I also noticed there were a lot more Audis there than I expected to see, TT's, Q7's, B6 and B7 A4'S AND A3's, also the A3 gets a 1.6L and both the b6 and b7 a4 has a 1.8t in them.

I have an idea... when you're done with this project, let's race, then compare receipts [headbang]
Why put RS4 wheels on there? Some spinnaz would be much more fitting to with the gold paint job. Do you have any matching "crown" air fresheners for your dash and rear decklid? Fuzzy dice?
Ok, I'll stop...
Intense project. Props for taking it on. But really... why? Because you can? Terrible answer.

Must say that's one Hell of an ambitious project and with the TDI it'll be nothing if not unique. I've considered doing a (1.9L VW) TDI swap but it'd be murder with the labour.
Not a fan of the colour (would have picked a green, or flat/matte black myself) but one can't overestimate the whole project's originality factor.

I can promiss you that I would not get far with 4500usd when turning a B6 into RS4 B7! The first order I did from germany has dealer price here in norway at about 34500usd! I pay alot less, but still there are a lot of parts into this project!
If i had an A4 B7 I wouldn't have to change the front doors, any of the lamps, hood, and many more parts..

$250,000 for an RS4, eh? Amazing.
There's a big reason why Audi has colors like Avus silver, and not metallic gold: Because Audi might sell one of them in gold... maybe two [evilsmile]
To each his own... but converting a B6 to B7 alone seems ridiculous, especially on such a lowly powertrain, let alone the same powertrain with an RS4 body.

Be verry carefull with what you say on diesels
TDI's can be verry powerfull
much torque on low rpm=can kick ass
If he does a custom mapping and bigger turbo's on his 1.9=same engine as i have it can do a 180hp with over 450 torque no doubt
I do understand what you say,it would be like:wow an rs4 untill he starts up

Hi!
Just wanted to post some pictures of my B6 to B7 conversion:)
The car is a 2005 A4 1,9TDi Quattro.
It started about a year ago when a friend of mine told me about a new RS4 interior. Bought that, and then there was no stopping!
well done, and worthy project... albeit costly and time consuming... i did similar project last year with b5 s4 to b5 rs4 conversion (body and stgIII+) and the results were worth the time and energy spent on the project... i hope you have similar results if not better... car looks great!

Sweet transformation. A great way to get the look you want at a reasonable price. I know cars in norway are super expensive. Even going out to dinner is super expensive.
People from the US that have never been to europe do not know how much cars and gas costs.
If you see a 911 turbo in norway, everyone pretty much stops and stares with jaws dropped. very rare to see nice cars.

I'm on the fence about this one guys.
On one hand, its a B6 A4 with some odd body work. Which is bad.
On the other hand, it looks identical to a B7 RS4. Which is cool.
It slightly reminds me of the Civics that upgrade to IS300 tail lights, or RSX headlights....sigh.
If you weren't meant to own an RS4 because it costs so much, then thats life. I do credit you for jumping right into this project and getting it done quickly. I would not do it to my A4 though if I had the funds.
STFU you're clueless!

My hat is off to you for doing this project! You have one of the most, if not the most unique Audi A4/RS4 diesel's in the entire world! I like the way it looks because you have been faithful to the lines of the RS4. No one should care that it is not an original RS4 because you have created a car that is truly unique, yet completely familiar. I totally get the whole VAT, Norway cost of cars thing. People that don't just don't have a clue. Congratulations for completing this project. Who knows, you could probably start a tuner company in Europe from this car!

And you also need the contacts that go onto the rear outer lights.
Then you will have to figure out what wire goes where on the outer lights. I just tried a couple of times and then it worked:)
THEN...I got a little confused trying to get the innerlights to work right. It was like the foglights was on.. The reason why is that the B7 only have 21w bulbs on all the light-functions, but the B6 uses 5w on some.
Good luck:) please send pictures.

I sent this to Billi, and I really need some advice. The B6 A4 taillight connector is 6-pins, and the RS4 is 5-pins, with two more for the trunk-mounted taillights. Doing the wire tests, connecting one bulb disconnects others, and causes blinking dash lights, too. H E L P P L E A S E . See contact information below.
Beautiful conversion, and magnificent color! It is inspiring.
Please help me! I have been doing the same thing (for 5 months now! Getting OEM RS4 parts is a challenge?!?) with my Dolphin Grey B6 A4 1.8tQ >> RS4 conversion, with the exception of keeping my B6 hood, headlights and B6 Caractere front bumper, to give it a totally unique look. The car is back from the body shop, and now we're in the nightmare of buttoning it up. The B6 rear wiring harness connector does not adapt to the RS4 lighting requirements, and is causing us fits. Have you gotten past this problem yet?
I have b6 wiring diagram, but cannot get the RS4 wiring diagram on-line?!? I am flying blind here, and need help before we make a serious mistake . . .
Please PM me or email to larry_stuart47@hotmail.com ASAP.
Regards and thanks,
Larry

Thanks, Billi,
Yes mine is a limousine (sedan). Your car is beautiful and well done. I will order the wire harness tomorrow! Whew!
I just got a Deval Carbon Fiber Splitter, from EuroGearUSA, and it is a nice piece. Much thicker than the Kerscher splitter, and nice clear-coat finish. It will look awesome under my B6 Caractere bumper, with the B6 front end blended to the RS4 front fenders. I also put a Turner Motorsport E46 M3 Carbon Fiber racing trunk lid spoiler, and it looks good on the RS4 trunk. I have a 1.8tQ6M, with crazy mods on it. I have 273 whp and 278 lb/ft TQ from APR Stage 3+, APR header and complete exhaust, FMIC, as well as Stasis Ohlins Coilovers, Stasis Alcon BBK (14" 4-pot front, 12.5" vented disc rear), Stasis 40% f/60%r Center Diff, Stasis Limited Slip Rear Diff, ported/polished/flowed intake manifold & throttle body with 75-shot Nitrous fogger to be installed and then a new dyno and ECU re-mapping. I have two-tone leather interior (Denim Grey/Ebony), JHM shifter, Eclipse AVN5495 nav system with Bluetooth, Sirius, iPod, rear-view camera, 30 GB Hard Drive, Rockford Fosgate and boxed 2x10" Subs, and all speaker upgrades. My car will be a show car, which is a shame not to be able to utilize all the performance components, but I am still tempted to track it occasionally (SCCA autocross, or track days here in South Florida. Look for a feature in EuroTuner, European Car, etc. sometime. I will keep you posted. I tried to post pics, but the files are too big, and I need help zipping them to create a gallery, like your build-up gallery.
Thanks again,
Best regards,
Larry

nice car, its been a few builds like these in norway lately. Due to the fact that cars are shit expensive over here. I paid 35k $ for my -01 B6 88km on it, no Sline, No Quattro, No bose, No cruise or drive computert. A car with all that equip is easly 50 grand.

Wow, Very interesting, hats off to you!!
Im not a hater etc but The Build is amazing, the colour is disgusting.
I dont get it though, what made you decide to do this?
Why didnt you just Import one from here in the UK because I know you said you wanted something fuel friendly but Im guessing by the massive wedge you spent on this, money aint the main Issue!!!!
Im not bashing you on it at all as I stand by what I say that you have pulled of some ridiculously amazing work and looks bloody brilliant....
We have a Silver RS4 Rep here in the Uk and its like someone said on here already, its like they have taken the RS4 engine out and slapped in a 2.0T. Its silver and looks identical to the real thing.Amazing.
I wouldnt have spent all that on the Brakes though, You dont need them do you and you say you have no plans for the full RS4 engine swap.
Well done mate, Defo would have picked a Better colour though!
