So after replacing many sensors and relays and gizmos and doohickeys...
The car runs without a check engine light. I just need to get a new MAF now and it should be pretty good with the exception of my A/C pump doing some strangeness and a suspicion that my alternator is on its way out and the obligatory exhaust leak.
Other than that though.... the hard stuff has been figured out.
BTW, I have a new 2.0 MAF for $50 if anyone needs it. I tried it in my car and, as others have also reported, the AWP engines don't seem to like them. Their price went up and I paid 100 bucks for it. I just want to try to recoup some of the lost funds on the incompatible part.
Soon I will be back to zipping around and generally being metrosexually happy in my TT.
