No, the only Italian car I've owned is the GranSport. That said, Maserati was purchased by Ferrari in 2005 and the newer cars, including the GranSport is Ferrari drivetrain and major components (430 engine and box). My car was in the shop getting tweaked constantly and the clutch going at 3k mi was ridiculous. They actually hit me up for $10k to get it repaired but managed to convince them to cover it under warranty. I got lucky because I sold it so quickly but the guy who bought it from me got raped when he got tired of it and sold it. I also don't like the attention you get driving a car like that (Maseratis were introduced in Canada in 2005 so it was a very rare and exotic car).

A good friend of mine went through an F430 and a Maranello recently and left $150k on the table by the time he got out of them. His cars were also at the shop constantly. We share a passion for German cars and specifically Porsches but like me, got bitten by the Italian bug too. He will never buy an Italian car again either.

Bottom line, I have no interest in buying any car that requires me to constantly bend over or that attracts so much attention. The only cars I have interest in are Porsches and Audis.

nice! [:D] my dad is an aston martin guy himself.. he had a db7 back in the day and is looking at db9's now. he said he would never really consider a ferrari or lambo. but he thinks the aston is just pure class.

I have to say there is a difference between something that premieres in European Car magazine and is considered more exotic than a Dodge. No offense but I think the general audience def has more interest in the cars from Europe. (Just my $.02)
