I'm posting this in all 6 of the B8 S4 threads, because I' tired of the same shit!

I really don't know why there are 3-4 threads about the same sh*t, the car is going to be SC. If you don't like it oh well, buy a 335. I said this before and an audi person told me that Audi took a hit on the 2.7t because of people like us who chip the cars, then when stuff breaks we put it back to stock and we claim warranty.

BMW is going thru the same stuff with the 335, their tech are checking for the chips and even for evidence that the wiring harness was tampered with. If that is found before stuff breaks they are voiding warranties until an inspection can be do by a special BMW corporate tech, and you only get one chance at this reprieve.

Regardless people are bitching about a car nobody has driven, but has about the same power as currently available, a flat torque curve, weighs less, better weight distribution, new Quattro system and lets not forget around 20% better fuel economy.

People lets really think before we speak, and I'll say it again, many of those bitching about the car will not be buying one anyway!

BMW is really cracking down on 335 tuning. They are blacklisting cars and taking away warranties like there's no tomorrow apparently.

How do you propose to hide the tool marks for your messing with the wiring loom? If you touch it they will be able to tell, there is no justifiable reason to be in that ECU box!. Just like Audi they will check as soon as something breaks.

It's s/c: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/technical/audi-reveals-details-on-new-supercharged-v6-tfsi/#more-5967

I'm looking forward to hearing what the final hp will be, hopefully it will be more than the current S4. B8 S4 w/350hp that has decent fuel economy? Sounds pretty cool to me.

That would make too much sense though, some idiots still think it's going to be a Twin Turbo. [rolleyes]

It's funny to me because people here and on E90 gave me shit for saying that they were going to void warranties. Who's laughing now, I guess I'll be back on equal footing again no more turning up the boost. [:D][race]

Okay, now look at this from Worldcarfans posted yesterday afternoon.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080529.011/audi-2010-engine-product-offensive-leaked

Audi S4 (B8)

"The sports version of the current generation A4 will see the 4.2-liter V8 from the B7 generation get dropped, and instead, return to its B5 roots with the all new 245kW (333hp) 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo TFSI. Available in Avant form as well as sedan, the S4 will be available in 6-speed manual transmission or double-clutch 7-speed S-tronic."

It isn't very clear from this story exactly when it will be available in the U.S. It does say March/April '09. Supercharged or tt it sounds pretty sweet to me.

Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: Read it and understand. The burden of proof is on the manufacturer and/or dealer. It is against federal law to deny service or repair under warranty.

Just another reason why Audi would rather not deal with tuners and go SC, now we all get hurt by this.

They don't have to prove anything, you altered their design to operate outside it's parameters, that alone is reason enough for you to lose. They will call in their engineers who will say that your car was operating above their safe threshold and thus caused damage. What will you counter with? "NO it it did not." You will not be able to fight, and in the meantime what will you drive?

Bottom line is you will not beat them.

The article is mistyped I think. They are referring to the correct engine (the brand new one revealed by Audi), but it is not bi-turbo, it is supercharged, although still called 3.0 TFSI.

Went through this on my own. Start pulling up federal law and a Lawyer and they will fix your Vehicle. BTW Have you read the Act in entirety?

Last time I looked at it, it really was meant to cover replacing stock parts with equivalent aftermarket parts, not for the use of performance enhancing products which can affect the life span of the powertrain. If you won on something like this it is because they choose to let you. When I have the chance I look at it again.

Well said. Same goes for those putting down the looks of the B8 or saying that it looks like a BMW when they've never seen one in person...I have and not only is it superbly sexy but it looks nothing like a BMW. As I've said before, people are going to be eating their words...

this was on jalopnik too, it's all based on that excel file going around. obviously the authors are just assuming TFSI means turbo without giving it a second thought.

The story from the E92 forum has been posted here many times. That guys car is a nightmare anyway, no matter how pretty it is. Either way 'You gotta pay to play' sorry if people don't like hearing it. Just man up and get the Dinan tune if you get a 335i, save yourself the headache in the long run.

And I can't wait for the official Audi announcement about the B8 S4. Let's wait and see what it ends up costing.

It's not so much mistyped, but more a case of idiots at WCF don't know what they are talking about. The 3.0 SC engine has been announced at a Vienna symposium a few weeks ago. It's a done deal.
