Considering a 2.0T A4 TRADE FOR MY STAGE 3 S4!

Just thought I would say hi. I really like the B7's and since I am looking to get rid of my stage 3 S4, I thought I would look into them. I test drove one a while back and I liked the feel. Of course no where near as close to my S4 or my A6 was for power but still pretty zippy. I was also looking at a B6 A4, so convince me... why should I go for a B7? [:D]

Oh and by the way if anyone is looking to trade for a sexy stage 3 bullet, linky to my siggy below! [;)]

2.0T has a greater tuning potential. As well as better looks.(IMO). I love this car and wouldn't trade it for anything. If I were you I would really consider getting one.

But yeah I really do like the styling too, but some later B6's can almost look as hot with a few mods IMO. The 2.0T does seem to have quite a bit of potential though I see what you are saying. My plans are all still a bit up in the air. If I don't get any decent trade offers for my S4 I will probably just keep it and fix everything. I love being able to blow the doors off 95% of the cars on the road... [race] lol

All that is in my for sale thread, there is a link in my signature below. But it has 104k and basically all it needs right away is a clutch and an exhaust leak fixed. Other little stuff isn't a big deal. All other things that are common to go bad on S4's has been replaced including: Tie rod ends, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, throttle body boot, F-hose and the stock turbos.

tuning possiblities for this engine at its state is still small. not much YET has been done to the car, no big turbo, no really good fuel pump exists (some will argue yes).

2.0 tuning is bigger for other cars that are not FSI, but the mk5 gti/Audi are roughly the same and nothing is really out there besides chip.

If you are looking for speed, than b5 s4 is the way to go. In the long run tuning will be better for the b7. Looks, b7 hands down.

Yeah I am really thinking that I might keep my car. I am afraid that if I trade it for an A4 that I am going to miss the power of the S4 too much and I am going to be unhappy. Power is addicting! Once you experience it, its hard to go back![:|]

after looking at the a4's reliability history through consumer reports, the ratings shot way up at the introduction of the 2.0T as compared to the 1.8T. same with the tranny. not to poo on any b6 lurkers in here - i'm sure they keep their equipment in top condition. however, that many poor reviews pushed me towards a b7. look it up - i think the most recent issue of CR has a big table of 2000-2007 model years rated in 15+ categories. then again, if you're keeping your s4, enjoy!

and, you know, b7 looks way better than b6. in my incredibly humble and un-biased opinion [;)]

Funny [:D]. Although I would have to pass for two reasons. 1 - The family wouldn't fit, and the kids would never get to ride in it. 2 - I would be broke from all the modding I would do........and possibly devorced for the same reason!!! [:D]
