Got Beat by an Altima! WTF

Ok, can someone come up with an idea of how this happened? Maybe he jumped the gun but from a second gear pull to 80 i totally lost by about a car length or so. he had the spec r but still its an altima!

v6 is packing round 270 to the crank. Deff can beat our cars stock. If u got beat by the 4 cylinder though.. well u should be ashamed of yourself.

coming from a gti to an a4, i don't really care if someone wants to race me anymore. i mean come on, if you get caught racing, your car can be impounded plus the other tickets they will throw at you. i just mod for myself now, not to beat all those cars on the street. i guess i'm getting old, man.

Agree with you a 100% man. I already have enough points hangin over my head as it is. I mean don't get me wrong I do like to open it up once in a while but for racing and thrills I keep on the track for the most part.

yup, not worth it in my opinion to race on the streets. you can save so much from tickets by going to the track. i usually just open up the throttle when I feel the need or when it's an open road meaning noone is around in the highway.[drive]

Have you ever launched your car? I have never had any FWD or RWD vehicle pull off a launch better than mine if I execute it correctly. Quattro friggin launches and goes, there is next to no wheel spin. It allows for us to use all of the power we can (within reason so we don't break anything) from the dig and maintain traction the whole time. FWD or RWD could just sit there and do a burnout if they wanted to give full power right away, so they have to slip their clutch or else do sort of a half-ass launch to get the least amount of wheel spin possible.

yeah, i was really expecting to beat him. i am used to more horse power. unfortunately, i wrecked my old e36 m3 in a freak accident so im still trying to get up to around the level i had in the e36 m3

The V6 is retuned in nearly every different nissan, and in the Altima SE-R it's linked to a regular 5 speed auto(maybe a manual too), unless they released a 2008 SE-R, it probably has a CVT with aggressive "ratios".

The last gen Altima wasn't making as much power as the new G35 or G37.

Either way you need to get chipped with a DV if you don't want to get embarrassed like that again.

When I use to work for Nissan, I leased a 2005 Altima 3.5SE for my wife. The car is fast off the line, VQ35 motor has alot of torque!
When going to WOT at a stand still, the tires would light up pretty easily

Altimas, Maximas -- and for that matter -- Camrys and Accords are no slouches these days as far as HP and 0-60 times.

I could've bought any of the above if I wanted a lot of HP off the lot, but I chose the A4 because of intelligent, thoughtful design and engineering and knowing full well that many less expensive/sophisticated cars are a lot faster. Traffic light drag race isn't the A4's strength and if you bought it for that then you aren't well informed.

lol he has like a chip exhuast and dv wat u mean with "all his mods" u hope so haha.. those cars r lighter then ours(cuz they r built like shit) and the ser 3.5 is a big v6....which still dont matter cuz he will rape them
