love soft tops but not feeling it on the R8 or any serious sports car for that matter. Other cars I like as hard top only are M3's, and Porsche 911's.

the r8 would have to be a hardtop...no softtop convertible for supercars...the sl isn't even softtop...

When I was in Neckarsulm a couple of weeks ago I was told by someone at quattro GmbH that the R8 convertible does exist. The description was along the lines of the Gallardo Spyder. Apparently they had to add a couple of inches to the wheelbase to make it work.
No targa. Convertible. Confirmed.

lol think about what you said.. where the hell would they fit a convertable hard top in the back of the R8.. the SL's work like that b/c theyre front engines....
