Thanks to everyone who participated in "The Great B7 Part Out". My B7 A4 is now officially back to 100% bone stock status. It feels like a completely different car now. The cliche "You don't know what you've got till it's gone" certainly is appropriate in this case.

I laughed the first time I got on it after I parted it out -- it was so slow! [>_<] After having my B7 A4 modded for 2 years, you get used to the power and handling. Now that stuff is gone, it really makes you appreciate the mods that I did have on there. I hope that the people that did buy my parts off me truly enjoy the parts on your cars!

With all of that said, in a weird way, it's kind of cool having it back to stock. It's like dating the bad-girl/vixen type and switching to dating the innocent girl next door who is as sweet as apple pie.

but....that's not the whole story...

Rewind to 2004. I bought a B5 S4. The plan back then (2004) was to go full Stage III but then a lot of personal crap happened (I'll just say that divorce is expensive but worth it), so that project came to a screeching halt back then unfortunately and I got rid of the S4. I had a Jeep Cherokee for a while, but missed having a luxury sedan, so in 2006, I got an A4. I said to myself "Ok, if I get a 2 litre 4 banger, that will pretty much force me to not do anything to the car. I mean seriously, what could I possibly do with a new B7 A4!?!" HAHA Wow was I sorely mistaken. I ended up modding that car up to the point where I won Dubs Along the Rockies two years in a row.

So for the past two years, I have thoroughly enjoyed my B7 A4, but I have to be honest. It's been bugging me for years that I never did get my B5 S4 up to Stage III status per my original plan. So, fast forward to 2008. I'll be damned if the bitch (oops, I mean ex-wife) was going to spoil my original plans. Finally got her paid off and now it's time to do what I originally wanted to do -- go full Stage III.

My B7 A4 will be my bone stock daily driver, but now, it's time to introduce "The Red Light District On Wheels". This baby has only 29K miles!

That B5 is hawt and clean. Very good choice. You should enter it for that AWE ad car thing since u have AWE and SAMCO products. [;)]

I was thinking of getting at B5 S4 as a "go-fast" car and parting out the B7 as well but I didn't want to deal w/ stuff breaking w/ having an older car and all that. Not sure what my future plans are going to be as far as cars go right now have to get done w/ college and land a decent job.

Looks gorgeous!!

If I were you, I'd take that UUC shifter out and throw in the JHM. It was like night and day after I swapped in the JHM.

Congrats, enjoy the Stage 3 power!!

Did you have a UUC shifter originally? I've heard nothing but great things about the JHM SS.

Yes...the previous owner of my car had the UUC shifter installed. I loved the UUC until Delete02 let me feel the JHM at a meet here in So Cal. After feeling the difference, I ordered it the moment I got home, haha.

Not that the UUC is a bad shifter; it's light years better than stock. However, Jason and those guys have put together a bullet-proof shifter for our cars. Either way, congrats again on the laser!!

Tom -- You've talked me into it. As luck would have it, there's a group buy going on right now!

While the throw reduction of the UUC SS is a lot better than stock, I'm not very happy with the throw itself. It feels pretty notchy. Hopefully, the JHM is a lot smoother. I'm looking forward to getting it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Wow I am very jealous. I love my a4 and the few basic mods I have on it. I plan on just chipping it and maybe some wheels and calling it good. I hope to do something like you are doing I am unsure of the car yet. But there is a VW Corrado calling my name, and there are a few others I would like to try like a quattro sport, a S4 (c4). Fix it up so it is cherry and fast. It might take me a divorce to get there as well. At this point I still hpe it doesn't but once I start building that next car who knows what might happen. I admire you and love your car, would love to see some of your vids in this car.

Nice, I'm 100% sure you'll love the smooth shifting of the JHM. Good luck with everything, hope to hear from ya in the B5 section!!

Thanks for the compliments! This car is unbelievable! As luck would have it, the very first night I picked it up, I ran into a C5 Z06 with exhaust (not sure if it had anything else done to it). We ran a couple times, once from a 40 roll and the second time from a 60 roll -- each time I would pull on him!

There really isn't a whole heck of a lot I can do further with this car. Perhaps a BBK may be in the future plans. I did order the JHM short shifter -- I'm looking forward to replacing my UUC shifter out with the JHM SS. Being in Colorado, I will be getting the High Altitude tune for the S4 this April or May. Then, Jeff Moss should be out here later in the summer -- he'll be able to really maximize the tune even further.
