hey there fellers, the new year is well under way and it's time to hit the track again. i've done streets of willow and buttonwillow so i've had some time to test out the current setup. i'm not too crazy for setting up my car completely for the track, but would like to know other suggestions for my setup such as pads, bushings, etc. right now it's riding on kw v3's, haven't set the dampening anything like that yet. pads are crappy carbontech ones that gotten eaten up by an instructor at streets of willow. threw on some 17 enkei nt01's with some pretty sticky falkens. what tire pressure should i look at? i'm thinking 32 psi cold for the front and rear. had the alignment and toe done at GMG which helped hugely. rear sway from neuspeed is set on stiff. i'm not too worried about power, it's good right now, just want to set up the suspension. mind you it's a fwd and yes it is a fun car to drive still on the track...madrussian...ha! thanks for looking and helping out

I would get a set of Alcon 13" or 14" brakes from Stassis. Its just that much of a necessity.

ya i was thinking that should be next, since they were so rubbery feeling at buttonwillow. but between this and getting an exhaust for the motorcycle, it's hard to choose! the bike is plenty ready for the track just want to make it louder and have better response.

i'm kind of partial to the ecs stg2 v1 kit (boxster non-s calipers with d2 a8/b6 3.0 front rotors).... sure, the alcon/stasis/brembo kits are bigger and look nicer but this kit can easily be found for only $600-$800. plus they use all over the counter/oem parts... no need to have your "hats" in for new rotor rings at a rediculous cost AND they fit alot of oem wheels

Can you post your alignment numbers? Conner weights, front & rear toe, camber.

i would focus on getting better pads rather than getting a big brake kit. I run porterfield carbon kevlar r-4's on my A4 while at the track, oem size rotors. I can out brake a lot of other cars on the track with that set-up. I know its a pain to switch pads just for track use but I would recommend it. I went through a set of mintex-red box in two sessions and had to go home early with barely any brakes.

if you get porsche calipers you can change the pads without taking the caliper off [:D] just have to remove the wheel and pop a few pins out of the top of the caliper [up]

beautiful engineering....maybe someday I will have them.

thanks for the info guys. I can see the benefit of running oem, and i know a good set of pads is really all i need, maybe some good lines also. As for the pads i was also recommended some hawks by the instructor, you guys run these? I'm not hardcore...yet...but i guess when i get better i can upgrade to bigger and better things.
TRU PSI...sorry brother i don't remember my numbers?!? i know i have it somewhere though.

Hawk HP+ are a really nice street/track pad. I currently use them on my track car.

ok gentlemen, now that i think i've figured out my brake setup, what should be next? bushings? they are still og so i think i need to upgrade those. along with the a-arms? i want to upgrade things like that before adding anything else on.
