Verizon is hands down the best. I worked for these guys on and off for years. AT&T split the state of NJ with Cingular. AT&T more north and Cingular south. That's how it used to be anyway. Throw sprint out the window. They suck. I use Nextel now, but I have to. I may be having to switch to Verizon now too however. They are the most $$$ but most reliable. Remember they own the most towers out of any provider. Friggin monopoly.

T mobile is good in heavily populated areas becuase of the GSM frequency they use. They just don't have it perfected yet.

I've been with VZ for atleast 9 yrs now and have been pretty happy with them, never any dropped calls. Sprint just sucks, and ATT well i dont know much about them.

i use at&t GSM up in Mass. and it's not bad...in this area i think verizon has it cornered, and AT&T's merging with cingular gave my gsm service a huge boost because now there's a tower in every area....AT&T or Verizon is the way to go for me.

I've never had a problem with Sprint till coming down to PA.... other than that... northern NJ NYC great reception
verizon would be the best bet....they are known to be great but just pricier....cause they never have cheap plans compared to the rest out there....i had it before i went with nextel about 5 years ago.....now i'm thinking if i want a new phone and dealer too just cause my plan is so expensive....i might just downgrade my plan..
do not get at&t/cingular.....horrible....i have many friends that are in the cell phone business either working or own shops and they say at&t/cingular is bad......my friend just got a cingular phone...and he is not too happy....too many dropped calls and the reception is not as good as my nextel.....i usually have more reception (antenna status) than him anywhere we go....some times he doesn't even have service while mine is at full

I have T-Mo... it's pretty good on the highways, but you still get dropped calls....
verizon has the best coverage, but you'll still drop calls between towers, specially on the GSP.
no cell service is perfect, most have a 15 day return policy if you hate it, so if you get a service and it doesnt work where you live, or you get too many dropped calls you can get out of it.

I'd only get Nextel if I knew a significant amount of people with the same service. That way the direct connect is 1000x more handy.
