post up if you are going, i heard there's a lot of non-members going to this event... just to let you know they won't let you run unless an SCCA member will sponsor you and you have to pay same $30 to run. Since there are more non-members than members, I can call SCCA to see if 1 member can sponsor 2 non-members. So post up if you are really sure on running. I will post updates sometime this week.

The reason why they are strict about the buddy program because if you are sponsored by a member, whatever happened to you on track, what ever stupid stuff you do while working on track, the member that's sponsoring you is responsible for all that actions.

but it's not too late guys, become a member.. only $80 a year... go to the SCCA site and register [:D]

we are planning on heading to marina early morning, we have to get there before 830am so we can walk the course. Ed and other SM class will be running 1st group so early (Dave you're working 1st .[:p]), most of us are running before lunch and the rest of the stock classes are running in the afternoon. I plan to meet up at In n Out in Gilroy at 7-730am.

Ken, I will be rollin down to the event with the caravan. I am pretty sure cdub will be going as well. I would like to enter the event, but I will need a sponsor, as I haven't received the SCCA forms for membership yet; that I requested online. Man, I also need to buy a helmet. [:D] Hopefully I will have my new intake installed, and can get my spark plugs changed before the event to help make my car that .1 sec faster. [cool]

Last race, I drove my STOCK suspension A4! You don't need a mod'd car to race. Race-prep for autox newbies means: topping off the fluids, checking the air in the tires, and making sure there is nothing loose bouncing around in the car. Autox is 90% driver, if this is your first time racing, you will be slow!

They will have some helmets available to borrow.

Call the SF Region office (888) 995-SCCA or (530) 934-4455 and see if you can fax it back to them. Once you are in the system, the main office in Topeka, KS, can fax you proof of membership which is acceptible when you register on race day.

BTW, please post if you're coming ... meeting spot is at In N Out parking lot in Gilroy at 7:00-7:30am, then we'll head to Marina... some of us are running/working 1st group which is at 8:30 and that's after course walk and driver's meeting.
