If anyone is in the area, I highly recommend coming to check this event out. I am on the #72 Autohaus Motorsports Pontiac GXP.R team, and may be able to get you into the pits. If not then buy a day pass and come check out the practice the two days before the race. I'm pretty sure its cheap to get into the pits then. Stop by, say hi and check out our car. Or watch it on TV, will be on Fox and Speed. Last weekend in January. Heres a pic of our car at the practice a couple weekends ago, its getting painted now. It was brand new never on the track till that practice. We should be a front runner for this race and be a major competitor for the overall championship. Looking forward to a great year!

Good luck guys. I have worked three Daytona 24hrs with various Porsche teams. Each race has been an awesome experience [race]

Shit! I wanna go! I'll hopefully be able to go to a race in CA.
The car is "black light pearl base with red and white graphics," and an Autohaus banner. Max Papis and Tim Lawson Jr along with 2 other guys, are driving.
So Matt, hopw many people have to get to the flu before they put you in the driver's seat?

sorry been thrashin to get the car ready to go, not much time to check the forum. Asked about getting people into the pits, and they say its a no-go. Might be able to sneak in, they dont really check for passes at the gates to drive in during practice, I just held up a room key and got in. Might want to try that on thursday/friday during practice. Find the Autohaus #72 pontiac GXP and ask for Matt or New Guy [cool]. I should be around.

Will post up a bunch of pics when I get back!! We take off tomorrow at 7AM!

I'll be at the Rolex and I'm getting garage passes. I should be able to get in the pits as the group I'm going (whos been going for years) usually checks out all the action. Can someone PM me with info on how you can get me into your team pits?

garage passes are basically the same thing. You just wont be able to get down to pit wall I don't think. If you come in tomorrow come check out the practice and say hi, hopefully we wont be in the garage during the race :)

What a great race that was. I was at the track for little over 20 hours but it was fun. I was able to hang out in the TRG pit for some time. The GXP.R did a great job and I don't wanna raise a discussion but they sunded kind of like the R8...

I'm pretty happy that our friends at SpeedSource took home the GT Race win (and 5th in the sister car). What can I say - I have grown fond of the Mazda family :)

the rotary engines in those mazdas sounded soo awesome, loved them at night too, throwing the flames out the side, what great cars.

As for our team, we ended up 24th overall and 35th overall, but the best part of it is that we raised $465,000 for our Children's hospital here in Seattle....details about Team Seattle can be found here.... http://www.teamseattle.com/

That is GREAT news Seatown. PM me.. I want to learn more about Team Seattle's fund raising efforts. I have been involved for the past year developing the same program for Autism Speaks and plan on doing a show-car program for the cause with our mazda team.

That is great stuff. It really is something when you can combine a great passion such as race with a great cause such as Autism Speaks or Childrens Hospital....

pm sent btw
