Just saying goodbye to the Audi modding industry, I am getting rid of my B7 A4 and getting a 2008 E92 335i..............will eventually be making 400whp and 400+ wtq, with my upcoming mods, schedueled for the winter (Vishnu Procede V2, CPE Exhaust with second cat delete, RR DP's with primary cat delete and SPearco IC, and some sticky tires [;)] )

I LOVED the winters with my Audi though, thats def one thing I am going to miss..........

Are you selling your parts?

The only thing I will be selling is the Eurocode Test pipe and I will be selling that for pretty cheap, also maybe the Forge DV (but the milltek exhaust will stay with the car, cause my cousin is taking over the lease).........I am thinking of just selling the stuff to a local

you better get a rear diff as well unless you have a winter vehicle.

Nope just gonna drive slow and safely.......and not be the guy in the left lane going 60 in the snow..........

Get the diff..335 with V2 and all the bolt-ons will be difficult to hook up (my bro-in law has the exact same car). He put down 325 whp with just V1 on a dynojet dyno. Wicked car as much as it pains me to say (as i'm not the biggest Bangle fan).

There are plenty of people near me putting out more power than that with just some sticky tires and are having no problem, I won't be doing quarter mile tracks, DEF some spirited driving and maybe a lil racing from like 40-155 but at that speed I won't have to worry about getting the tires to stick [;)]

Thanks for the good luck wishes also guys[up]

not a big BMW fan, but all i can say is that i am getting a 135i as my play / weekend car!!!! it's not gorgeous to me but w/ 400-500 whp + tq in that lil coupe????? ghee who cares how it looks, i'll be cruising to fast on so. fla highways to be seen anywho! i hope i do like it when it comes at, i checked the specs and it's only 9 inches shorter than the b7 a4 sedan. but no other germany company at this point has a package w/ a sub $35k price range w/ 300hp + 300tq available. i wasn't sold on the 3.0 tt engine due to mainly price but w/ the 135i offering it makes $hit a lot more interesting. i think it's time to let go of my beloved yamaha r1 (plus way toooooo many bike accidents lately here in so. florida!!!)

just my .02 cents

Snows, doesn't it?

Yea usually melts the next day too, also there are new inventions called snow plows and snowblowers, lol. There are plenty of people that drive rear wheel drive cars in the snow. For example I went to mount snow this weekend and there was at least 4-6 inches still on the ground from the 14inch storm and my friend drove around in his rear wheel drive car with a little slippage here or there.........

Right, but I'm sure his car doesn't have 400 whp, either. I'm just saying, you don't see too many vettes, vipers, ferraris, etc. in the snow for a reason...

Like Chris Rock says, "just because you can does not mean you should." It does not take a lot of snow to get a RWD car stuck while going up hills. I have a monster hill to climb to get to my house and while I had my 330Ci (even with with snows and extra weight in the trunk) had to leave a standing agreement with a ski shop that I could park my car in their lot if I could not make it home and it happened SEVERAL times. Not cool. For normal driving it was fine, but get on an incline and you were rolling the dice. I would never trade an AWD daily for anything else but. Congrats and Good luck nonetheless. They are great cars! [up]

Edit-They have a 335Xi, why didn't you get that?

Cause if you get the Xi, you cant get the Sport suspension and rims......(well they recommend ou not to get the sport rims then, defeats the Xi purpose)

I thought the same thing, if i were to get the 335 it would have to be the xi. I dont hear too much about the xi though, all i hear is the regular i. Any info on the xi? are they too heavy or something wrong where they dont produce as much power?

then again nothing beats Quattro AWD! [:D][up]

but if you plan on modding your car, cant you just put an aftermarket suspension better than BMW's sport suspension?

Having grown up and gone to college in NY and NYC, the winters aren't so terrible where you require a AWD to get around period. You may be snowed in a few days of the year but so will the Audi since being snowed in is about clearance and not about traction.

I'm sure he'll have a set of winter tires for the snowy season.

good bye, its been nice having on the audi board, have fun with bimmer. That car is a pure driving maching but to small inside for me. Also I don't like how the front end looks bigger than the back end. Works for woman but not for sport cars IMO. Fun to drive though!

400whp on stock sports suspension can be a very wrong idea, either in winter or summer....better work up ur suspension, rims, tires etc etc, before u head into the power game.... where are u gonna use that 400 whp anyways???

400+ whp + no limslip diff = no traction + snow = bad.
i recommend what they say and get a diff from quaife.

a car like that in the snow is dangerous. but its up to you, obviously.

i agree though, if you are modding out the 400+whp / wtq, you should try the xi. if you are modding anyway, get new rims & C/Os. You get a better than stock ride / suspension and you will be getting all 400 whp to the ground, unlike in the rwd where you'll have the traction light blinking like a christmas tree or just doing a burnout all the time. whats the point of power if it never gets the ground? unless you're one of those donut/burnout guys...in which case, just be careful.

I love how better or worse is based on speed on this forum. They are all limited at the same speed. And even if you remove the limiter you really are going to be going that fast. Once you have car that can get up and go and a respectable pace there is so much more that a car should be based on.

ironically, the speed is actually something audi is not very good at.....
but i totally agree with you, to have a faster car, doesnt mean to have a better car. overall audis are much better cars than any of their competitors in terms of value of the total package.... and most people do not base their value on "pure speed".... bimmers might be faster cars, but they will not be better cars compare with audis.

let me tell you this the 335 is not a car for anything but dry weather!!! I had an 04 S4 sold it for the 335 hated what bmw missed with the car in many ways ex. not LSD I have close to 380 hp and the thing would just one wheel around town. first snow last year it had just started to snow and I had to back into my office garage and have my brother take me home. I dont care how slow you drive this car is not for winter! now with that said i am back in an 07 s4 because i missed my car ALOT!!!

You my friend are wrong it takes atleast an hour to get to manhattan from mid Long island then E town is atleast another hour to an hour an a half
hrs.Atco is 141 miles from Central Long Island which with tolls and stuff will be 3 hrs. . The one drag strip that was on the Island was closed in 2004.
Do some research before correcting me i grew up on long island and moved to Illinois last year

You're really going to be upset when you get the 335, dump all the money into power, and then wreck it in a dusting. RWD BMW'S are absolute shit in snow. I used to have an 02 M3 in central jersey about 30 minutes away from the city (NYC). I took it out one day to go literally a 10 minute trip, and it took me 2 hours round trip, driving slow w/ sand in the back. Now, how much snow was on the ground? 2 inches... Do yourself a favor, either get the XI or take out a huge insurance policy on the car....

400+ whp + no limslip diff = no traction + snow = bad.
i recommend what they say and get a diff from quaife.

A locker would only help when trying to get going. It will make it worse when turning; as soon as one wheel starts spinning, the other wheel that still has traction, will spin and lose it, causing fishtailing much easier.

One wheel with traction is better than neither. I think it can be done, though he'll have to drive slow and piss off many people.[:D]

The A4 2.0T and the 335 are two very different cars. I understand the appeal, especially with the mods you're looking to make but HP is not everything (something you only get after you've owned a few high HP cars).

I have a good friend who bought one to replace his 330 (my old car) and hates it. The car is now for sale. I drove it two weeks ago and I understand why. I absolutely love the powerplant and I was pleasantly surprised by the brakes but the car feels sloppy and unbalanced (front weight-biased) in the twisties. Frankly, I just didn't feel safe driving at 7/10s and I doubt a suspension upgrade might fix that. I would never put that car on the track (I'm assuming that's why you want 400HP???). I've owned 2 S6s, a 330 coupe, an E36 M3 and an E39 M5 and the 335 left a lot to be desired. Just my .02.
