They have an early review of the A4 3.2TDI quattro. Two things to note: Audi's Dynamic Steering much better than BMW's Active Steering. And the thing went on a diet and lost ~250lbs compared to the previous model in Europe.

Tanner I think you got overly excited. It's the regular 3.1L gas engine, not a TDI.

I wonder what the botton by the side mirror on the inside on the car does????

it is like a radar system to give a warning light (blinking signals) to the driver, if he is switching lanes where another car is on that lane within close proximity.

I can not wait to test drive this car. The amount of engineering that went into this car should be enough to buy one.

1. B8 has grown considerably, yet 250lb lighter! That is a great achievement indeed.
2. Wheel base/weight distribution has improved. I wish they have used steel arms for back suspension to allow for better weight distribution. This could sacrifice some of the weight saving though.
3. Cd is one of the best for cars of this size.
4. Seems Audi opted for a chassis that could meet a wide range of preferences depending on engine/configuration/line/options.

I thought the B7 uses Al arms for back suspension.

it does and so the new B8 A4

the 3 series uses al in front and steel in the back. I think the reason they've done it that way is to get almost 50/50 weight distribution.

Glad to hear it did not gain weight. The current trend in cars getting heaver with each model year is one that needs to change.

I hope that 250lb weight LOSS, will make it to the US.
That's excellent!
If rumors are correct, power will go up in the 2.0T, combined with a weight loss, that will make the modest power increase even more useful.

I've read the complete opposite on the 2.0T... no significant amount of power increase but better emissions/fuel economy, which I'm suspecting will probably be with the true FSI engine in Europe as we do not have the lean-burn mode which is unfortunate.

At any rate, less weight will help in the long run with mileage and handling.

game over! i would rather tinker with my b7 s4 than spend the money on a b8, but if the 09 a4 will come with the 3.0tdi, i will be first in line!. that engine in the a6 pulls almost consistently with my 4.2, think of that power in a smaller a4.

I've tried it out in the A5. It *FEELS* faster than the old man's S8. It obviously isn't, but it's a LOT of fun. And is, of course, very quick (just not as quick as the S8 :D). That feeling of torque is second to none.

Which one did you try crespo?

I'm guessing the 3.0TDI?
