There was a little M5 meet and fun run out here in Northern VA today. My dad being one of the M owners invited me to come along.

We met out in Haymarker and terrorized the back country roads. It was amazing. I hung with the leader cars and had a great time. Got sidewars twice, neither time on purpose =). I was by far the youngest guy and they were impressed. Impressed because a young buck 17 year old like me could hang with them and that so could my S4. Getting up to 100 mph on barely 2 lane curvey mountain and farm roads is an amazing rush. I'm dead tired now and have a huge headache, but it was worth it.

Only casualty were my rear brakes. They are toast, slightly warped, pads are going fast, and the rotors are worn deep. =(
I guess I need a big brake kit =)...

Haymarket, not Haymaker. You must have been near Warrenton, The Plains, Marshall and some of that area.

I agree with Evil, not a big fan of that type of driving, especially when you are that young. You should be more careful out there man. Not too much to brag about.

Yup, typo. I had fun, we traveled in a caravan. Only a few times did we pass pedestrians, other cars, or bike riders. The majority of the other riders were bikers out for the same thing we were.

cut the young chap some slack. Good show! What's the point of having a fast car if you can't push it!
Buckle up!
and use your turn signals!
use discretion and try to be a responsible as possible!

Yup, my dad said, "I don't want you to ever do this with your young friends and by yourself." Always signalled, yielded to non M5s and played it as safe as possible.

sorry MR Vtec I don't agree with you at all man. 17+S4+100+narrow roads=Dangerous man. That is just my opinion though. Sorry.[:)]

Dont listen to these guys, if you felt like you were safe, then you probably were. I went on a fun drive with the north texas MINI group when I had my MINI. I was also the youngest person there by 5-10 years, but still had a blast driving really really fast but in a safe way. These guys were not there, they didnt see the roads or the conditions you were driving in. What intake does your dad have? It looks like the Dinan ram air on the front bumper...

Nice, tell daddy to buy you the Stage 3 kit for your S4 and then leave that M5 eating your exhaust's dirt.

I have tried that. So far to no avail.

Driving like that on public roads is not the safest thing in the world to do but neither is driving in the first place. Being with your dad is really cool and all and you really should be relatively safe with a group like that. It's way better than even getting close to those speeds on your own.

I'm 17 and was easily the youngest guy at the EPqC Longwood fun run. We hit some insane speeds and at times I could hear the tires squeeling of the guy in front of me which warned me to slow down a little. All the leaders knew the road and the particular leader of our group was driving an A4 so we were all fine with speeds comfortable for him.
In fact the only time I had a problem was going under the speed limit when a chick ran a stop and I ran into her. I hit her going 10-15 below the limit totaling my car.

As long as you're with a group that knows what they're doing you really should be fine, just always watch out for other traffic and always assume they're complete idiots.
