Be careful out there. This occurred in broad daylight, on a straight, dry roadway. Damn lucky these two idiots didn't take any other cars with them. Here's the link w/ a picture gallery...

The fact that you have to ask what kind of cars is a pretty good idication that this was pretty serious.
Weaving in and out of traffic and colliding at what had to be 100+ always is a recipe for disaster.
Be smart and use your heads out there..

well each driver chose to be doing what they were doing.
They were the only ones who suffered from the consequences.
Thank god.

Did anyone read the "comments" section on that page? Damn people are cold nowadays. this is my favorite... "Here's a simple soultion make cars that can only go 65 MPH no need to go faster than 65. Probally its time to put restrictions on the Auto makers too". what a fucking idiot! id like to see what happens when hes trying to merge into traffic and a semi is storming down on him and his family and he gets smacked because his car cant go over 65. are there really people this ignorant?

I still can't believe that people think that by the government imposing MORE rules that somehow life can possibly be anything but miserable.
Hell, government over-control is why the US was created from pilgrims from Britain!

One reader comment from the link indicated a possible male/female domestic dispute with the man chasing the woman. I researched a bit and discovered that one vehicle is, indeed, registered to a woman. The IDs of the operators have not been released yet, so we will have to wait for the details. It's possible, though, that this is NOT a street racing crash. Interesting.

Wow...
Seriously though if your on an open highway with no one around its a bunch different from weaving in crowded places... I have no sympathy for jackasses that weave in between cars and such... Thats just stupid and dangerous

I highly doubt they were street racing. Given the time of the accident and the location. I-95 is pretty busy during that time of day...
Speed was most likely a factor, but I doubt this was the type of "street race" we all think of. Most likely just a couple of douches weaving in and out of traffic.

yea this wasnt street racing....
It was a woman and a man. Posted above about that domestic dispute sounds like it could be what happened. But i do not believe that racing was the issue here, but speed deffinatley was, i saw the pictures of the people on the news last night. Late 20's? early 30's? thats my guess by looking at the guy.

Can't agree with you any more.
This whole tragic incident, while there is a slim possibility that it is racing, is more than likely the afore mentioned domestic dispute, which ended up looking like racing. The police didn't have a motive yet, so they classified it how they saw it: a street race. They saw the cars (what's left of them) involved, saw they were imports, esp with a Honda involved, they generalized and called it racing. Had it been something like a Chevy Malibu and a Chrysler Cirrus however, they wouldn't have generalized

they first said that it was an empty long strech of road and then that they were weaving through traffic. news these days cannot be believable at all.

the cars look like tin cans, as awful and tragic as it is. some people just don't know when to draw the line. and drag racing at 11 am?? im barely out of bed by then let alone racing down an interstate
