Audi Cars and Stars @ Pfaff, Newmarket (BWW)

Went out after work to see Pobst and Galati at the Audi/VW dealer in Newmarket. Pobst's RS6 was there along with the lifesize model of the R8 (there was no way they were going to let people sit in it if it were the real thing and besides it had no engine).

Talked to Randy afterwards, great guy to talk to and has a lot of good stories. He did mention that the Volvo will NOT be running this weekend unfortunately (damn was hoping to see how well this 300hp AWD does), and Ron Fellows (local guy from Mississauga I believe) will be driving a THIRD Cadillac on the field. With the Vipers strong on the straight, and the Cadillacs I think are only running 95% at what they can do, the RS6s will have a tough weekend given all of the engine restrictions and "reward" weight they have, but nevertheless it'll be two good races.

Rule change for this year mandates stock headlights so air intake is integrated right into the hood this year.

New A6 (eurospec) - looks great in person, interior is well layed out actually, great cloth sport seats that will NOT be coming to Canada... come on Audi, what the hell are you doing??? Even Pfaff is complaining about this as people want the cloth sport seats!!!!!

Great to see Peter and Ryan there! Peter and his wife walked away with some great prizes (jacket and sweater) while my other friend (a couple) walked away with a hat/keychain and a Michelin boggle head or whatever you call it.

Yeah unfortunately my stay was short, but nice running into you guys. I sure like the A6 in person, and that interior was so nice. Was amazed at how nice the cloth interior was, its a shame we'll never see it again on showroom floors.

You guys scored the prize draws, anyone else score a flag on the way out? [:p]

Chris was in front of me when we were leaving. I knew he wanted a flag so just when I thought that, the passenger side door opened as Debbie grabbed a flag then we took off. There were so many around I guess anybody could have picked one up.

I'm trying to get a group drive next Sunday but haven't heard back from somebody, and also I'm looking at seeing whether we can take part in a wine tour with another audi group here in Toronto.... will post the details when I get them....
