I really hope that isn't how its going to look. It doesn't look that aggresive.

I couldn't figure out what the second hole is in the fog light grills, i thought it was an intake, but they're still running the NA V8, so i can't imagine its an intake.

Likely some sort of sensor.

Very cool... but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about the final look of the S4 based on spy pics like these.
The car we are looking at could very well be a test "mule" which most likely is not the final design. Things like spoilers and mirrors are probably not essential to all phases of the handling / ride development and testing (sure some testing of high speed stability and handling would likely warrant a complete and final design).
AFAIK, a car manufacturer will often buld a limited series, say 10, development cars. Car #1 may be used for ride compliance testing, car #2 may be used for early PR work, car #3 for eletronics testing, car # 4 for crash tests and so forth.

It wouldn't surprise me if this WAS the final look for the S4 (minus the black wheels and add the brushed silver mirrors). It looks just like the S-Line version, and recently, all S-Line versions are almost visually the same as the S versions.
It WOULD be nice if the actual S version had a unique look from the rest of the line, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, I happen to like what I see in the pictures :-)
It looks to me like the driver is seated a bit ahead of the b pillar (it is of course possble that he's just a short guy). -In my B7 I actually sit next to / slightly behind the B pillar. My B7 also has horribly little leg room in the rear seats. I have read that the B8 will provide significantly better leg room in the back seats so I can't wait to see the car in real life.... and I can't wait to learn about US pricing and availability [drive]

Looks good to me, but I agree with the comment about how close the S-Line and S series have become. I would like a different look as well, kind of like what they do with the M models. I like the wheels too, it would be nice to have some wheels with some concavity.

what S4 has ever looked aggressive from the factory? that's what the RS4 is all about. the S4 is supposed to be a conservative hot rod.

Am I the only one that sees a strong resemblence to the Jaguar S-type from this angle. Not diggin' this at all, B6 is still looking like my last A4 [:(]. Here I come A5/S5 [:D]

Likely some sort of sensor.
You are right [;)] all the new gadgets that need to be at the frontside of the car, are (in) there.
But this whole is a temp. solution.

The overhand was supposed to be shortened by at least 4" over our B7 A4's.
Frankly, after seeing pictures of the new B8 A4, it looks nice, but the overhang looks to be nearly the same, maybe an 1" or 2" at most shorter.
I'm disappointed that Audi couldn't take more off that huge front overhang.
Also, look how far forward the gas cap is. It's moved forward quite a bit.
Any rear passenger should get a good sniff of petrol while refueling if their window is cracked a bit.

I see it too. The tail lights and rear are so 3 series. Everyone is stealing from BMW these days. Just look at the new Accord.

i don't know how, but this sedan looks more like the 3 series coupe than the A5, which.....is pretty good if you think about it

And if it bothers you (all this "looks like..."), dont buy it! Buy the other one!
Trends are for soo long all over the Automotive Industries, colors, shapes, electronic gadgets etc.

The new Tiburon looks really good.
Rumor is RWD with power to match the Mushythang GT.
The rear of the B8 looks a bit off, but he front looks very nice.
The overhang still bugs me cause Audi kept telling the media how much shorter it would be, but it's not.
I hope it is in person.
As nice as the A5/S5 looked in pictures, it looks even sweeter in person. [:D]

i see people mentioned this already...looks to be an intake...and that "radiator" looks a little more pronounced as well. I willing to bet this baby is running a couple of snails...just like the new rumors say.

I've been told: The round one (left) seems to be temporary for testing. Behind it are parts of these new Audi electronic gadgets located.
Later it will be as we are used to see with Audi.

I should have been more clear.
It doesn't "LOOK" that much shorter to me.
If those numbers are right, in milimeters, then the difference is only 2.67", 36.77" vs. 34.10", respectively.
Granted, it IS a reduction in front overhang, but nothing like the 4-6" people speculated and wanted.
Audi moved the front axle something like 4", but the overhang wasn't cut that much.
That's why it doesn't 'look' as shortened as previously thought.
It still looks too long to me.
Is the front of the Avant the same as the sedan?

The round "thing" is the sensor for the optional Adaptive Cruise Control and lane assist feature. Behind the grill would be an intercooler.

the distance from the leading edge of the driver door to the rearside of the front fender seems to be significantly greater in the B8 comparison to the B7. To me that looks like the engine assy, etc has greater depth in relation to the front axle going towards the rear of the chassis.
