View Full Version : BMW 135i vs 335i ..
Dont get me wrong, I love the S5 and I definatly think its more of a lux car than the 135i for sure (definatly SEXIER).....but since they are comparing the 335i with the s5 already.....why would one of us spend the money to get the s5 when you can pick up a 135i for that much cheaper?
..assuming money is somewhat of an issue

Completely different cars.
Seems like your basing options on power to dollar ratio?

Different categories and different target audiences. You should be comparing the S3 to the 135. Painful thing is they don't bring the S3 here. In which case look at the new R32 vs the 135. Check out some european car mags for comparos of these three.
S5 is a different target and size etc.
Also depends on what you are after in a car

thread title obviously meant S5 vs 135i
The 335i never appealed to me. It was too much money for a 3 series all said and done. Being that the S5 is coming out in a 2 door, and the 135i is a 2 door they are both lined up for looking at when i purchase a new car.

S5 and 135i are in two totally categories...in terms of size and HP. It's like compareing 335i to 135i basically.
I would compare 135i to VW Golf or something similar in size.

Peterbuilt vs S5, who wins? I mean the S5 is a good performer, but the Peterbuilt tow's like 100,000lbs, especially if you chip it.

135 will be a great performing car no doubt.
But it also doesn't have the greatest looks IMO, and looks very budget...
Then again, after seeing the S5 in person, I think the same of the 335...

You do know they make a 335 coupe, right? lol. You also know the 135 is the size of an A3?
As far as price goes S5>335>135. I'm not really sure where your comparisson stems from. Two different sized cars, two different price points.

I have the Corsa too and love it, my brother got his used from craigslist but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Corsa Exhaust 14117 (http://allexhaust.com/product.php?productid=1026?odj), or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.

I just drove a 135 with sport pkg, manual, today. Was a lot of fun, not a bad interior by any means and there is much more space for 2nd row peeps than the a3 because the wheelbase is stretched out front - which in turn gives it handling that makes the a3 cry, even with quattro, which i didn't think the a3 had the "real" version of anyway.
so, a 300 hp twin turbo, chipped to 380 in a nice little tunable package seems like a lot of fun for the $.
Howver, if what you want is a town roller / traveling coupe, the s5 wins, but only if it has the sweet 4.2 and mt6 because a car that size should growl, not just whine. spec performance 3's don't mean crap when you are anywhere but racing. it's more about the feel and the 4.2 rocks. The 135 turbo was incredibly smooth though, nothing like the lagging TTS I drove recently but with much more pull than the TT 3.2 mt6.
I "get it" on the s5 coupe v6/135 comparo because essentially, they are the same slot: coupe that is fun to drive. It's just that one is more of a touring car while the other is a fun "little" car.
