Amen... can't wait to see the performance gain
Picked up my car today.
A few observations so far:
Power is very linear pulls all the way to 6 grand without hesitation.
The car feels very smooth, my friends skyline had a similar amount of power but it kicked in at 3500RPM really hard.
The KO4 doesn't kick in hard.
The ESP seems to intervene alot more.
I have a feeling the engine is still adjusting so I will drive over the weekend and give more info next week. (as well as pics. Not that much to see though)
I will dyno as soon as I get the chance.

Nico did you end up putting in a CAI, Exhaust, TP or a Fuel Pump ?
With your butt dyno (and ESP off) does it feel a lot faster incomparison to your chipped K03 ? Or is it similar, just the K04 doesnt run out of puff.
If your not busy over the weekend ill try and catch up with you to see it in action.
Hi Peter,
I had just the KO4 installed for now I have one more Audi service left so I will do this then I will put on the test pipe and maybe carbonio. Then I'll see what happens with FMIC and/or fuel pumps. But at the moment they aren't released so I'll wait till some other people do some tests on them first.
As far as power. The car feels WAY faster in all gears the power kicks in slightly later than with the chip, closer to 3000RPM then it goes really hard all the way to redline the tacho goes so fast before you know it you have to change gears.
The car still bogs down if you don't launch properly and then because it takes a bit longer to spool up it takes a while to go but when it does its fast.
It's hard to explain, basically the power delivery is different to the chip.
I have been busy over the weekend but maybe next week or one evening if your over my way send me a text.

Ill get in contact with you next week...
We can also run some VAG-COM logs to see how aggressive your tune is.
Did you get the Race program as well ?
Sounds good. I can't do Monday day time but night is ok. Otherwise I have appointments during the day but can always take a break for a while, so give me a call when you are free.
I didn't get the race program. I think Inferno mentioned that it wasn't available for the KO4. I doubt I would use it anyway, but I'm sure I can add it if I want. I got Stock, 98 and the security lockout will be put on soon as well.

How's the car feeling now?
I've been thinking of going K04 on my B6 S-Line lately but Guy told me recently that "We don't currently have software for the K04 for the S-Line - its not going to be a huge jump up from the existing turbo & injectors so we have never had a request for it!".
Obviously it's ok for you because you're B7 but I don't really want to go stage 3 :( K04 was going to be my limit...

I'm on Guy's side on this one - if you get the hardware cheap + software upgrade + installation, you'll be lucky to get change from $5k for a gain of around 10hp.
You'll be better off putting those kind of $$ into FMIC, TIP, brakes, suspension etc. Either that or save up and reach the extra few kilobux for the GTRS, trust me you won't regret it [:D]

Actually, I could pick up a secondhand K04-15 for less than AU$700, install it myself, and then the map upgrade should be free. The K04 upgrade I've read with the guys in America isn't for a bigger power output, but for more efficient delivery of existing power from 1+...
But for a $5k+ budget, of course I'd go for a proper BT setup, no second thoughts there!!
BTW, I didn't know you went BT! What did you get???

Hey Phorte,
I think it will happen, we just have to wait for the S-lines to start wearing out stock turbo's & that will create a demand for it - Its just a bit early in the cycle yet [;)]

APR GT2860RS kit [cool] It absolutely rocks. Off to do a little bit of logging & a VAG-COM dyno run now.
Would you need bigger injectors for K04 on your car? I can't remember what the stockies are rated at.
Ratty is a smart man! (just in case anyone forgot)
My power increase at the wheels was only about 13HP Peak but in the low RPM I gained about 30hp & 40 nm. This was compared to a fully modded KO3.
vs. APR chip I gained about 25hp peak @the wheels.(no other mods)
Now the thing is I will be adding some extras soon! A.W.E intercooler, APR Test pipe & Fuel Pump and maybe A.W.E exhaust.
Hopefully this will increase my peak HP by approximately 40.("tell him he's dreaming").....(No Don't I want to find out the hard way.)
As far as power you can feel. Well I stuffed my gearbox and have been driving around in APR stock mode for months and the difference is incredible. The torque down low is what does it. You put your foot down in any gear and it will accelerate. The power is more flat than chip so you don't get the sudden kick in of boost you get with the APR chip at 3000 the power comes on at like 2000rpm and tappers off very gradually so you don't notice it whereas the KO3 used to drop off drastically at 5000RPM.
I(Derek) will be putting on test pipe soon then I will re dyno then pump(Dependant on software) and intercooler. I will try to be patient and dyno each added mod and let everyone know.
