i have a b5a4, but im going to install a SS on a b5 s4 for a friend. Ive already done it on my a4. I just need to know which shifter to get. Is 150 bucks possible on an s4 ss?

The install is pretty much exactly the same. I had a B&M in my a4 and took it out and put it in my S4. B&M is the only one that is interchangeable though. I liked it in both. Still needs adjusted a little on the S4 though.

Toyguy SS, hands down. By far the smoothest and most affordable SS available for a B5 S4. Its only $140 and you get $35 if you send your stock unit back. No better deal around. Check his website out to order:

Second that. I have a TG shifter and really like it and for the price it is unbeatable.
