they are getting popular particularly in the metropolitan cities and suburbs...where I live southern california home of car culture the A4's have really taken off and i'm seeing a fair share of the cabriolets
I think it might be a backlash as sooo many more people have BMW's and Merc out here

I'M GLAD THAT THEY ARE TAKING OFF IN THE STATES SO WE CAN SEE SOME PROPER MENTAL MODS! HOWEVER I DO LIKE THINKING OF AUDI AS A NICHE MARKET. SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT. I WENT TO THE STATES 3 MONTHS AGO, (FL KEYS) AND ONLY SPIED ONE DEALERSHIP AND A HANDFULL OF AUDIS!!!!
AS I SAY, I WORK FOR A MAIN DEALERSHIP (STEALERSHIP!!!) IN ENGLAND AND AM GLAD TO SEE THE FOLLOWING!!

They're coming along since the poor following they had due to the issues in the 80s

Hear in Manchester where I live ther are about 3 A4's, mine included.
New England has always been the Quattro capital in this country. These cali boys just found out. One question for you...Why does this surprise you?

Well around here in northern Delaware A6's are absolutely everywwhere. I'll see at least 2 every time I leave my house.
A4's are pretty common but not all over the place like the A6's. I've also seen a few A8L's floating around.
My S4 however is a pretty rare car around these parts. I see another one about once a week. Mine is Nogaro and as far as I know is one of three of that color in the entire state. I also have the only S4 tip I've seen in person.

My co-worker drive a 97 A4.
They are getting very popular, but i don't want them to get like BMWs and Hondas.

Most of the comments here are from metro areas, where they are popular, but way behind BMW and MB. More than a niche, but not mainstream. You don't see many Audi's in Kansas[;)]

i don't see many but you notice them more when you drive one yourself.
Like when i drove a dodge daytona turbo once i bought it i noticed a lot more on the road

well popularity isnt always a good thing because it makes them become rare. Especially when your young and the only one who drives and audi at school.

Just found out huh? [rolleyes] I'm on my 3rd audi! When I was 15, my 1st autolust was after a black 85 4000 quattro (to which my Dad decided a fugly brown oldsmobile was the better buy).
BTW, you don't see many Audi's in the midwest because Quattro is kind of a waste on flat straight roads. You'd need at least a V8 to have any fun out there!

Hi Ridgeway
Good to have another UK AZer on here. I was also nicely suprised at the enthusiasm and passion of these guys, more so than in the UK... [rolleyes]
But its the same in the UK guys Bimmer,Bimmer,Bimmer....Audi has an identity...."never follow"[:D]
