Mercedes/McLaren to build an R8 clone??

Has anyone seen this in the July 23rd copy of AutoWeek? Take a look at the photo gallery (link on page). The first two pictures look like R8 rip offs. The wheels on the orange mock up are completely R8 knock offs. Its great other automakers want to emulate the R8 (shows how great the design really is) but Mercedes?

wow, looks like they just took the R8 and made changes to whatever they needed to make it look like a mercedes. nice to see the R8 has some big influence on other makers. the orange has the exact same wheels as the R8. i don't know but i think mercedes should come up with an entirely new coupe design

From what i heard and read, Mercedes will be making a new car targeted at the R8 but at their HMA office/division. Nothing to do with Mclaren

They're all drawings that dont mean squat. Look up the old "Ferrari F60" 'spy drawings' of 98-99, and they look nothing like the Enzo they were suppost to be. Its all hear-say to sell mags, thats all.
