I dont think you're gonna get much lower on 18s without rubbing. Maybe 1 more inch, but like you said if that's the case you have to look into coilovers which will end up being more $$$$.
I think it looks fine as is. the UrS4/S6 body lines remind me of the A6, they dont "look" cool, unless they're really DUMPED.
but that's the thing, they're old school, and classy. You just have to get used to ridin' high.
On this particular body style i think it looks fine w/ 1 finger gap, though i have noticed the front tends to look slightly higher on even pavement.
If you wanna dumped Audi get a B5 or B6...

You have to keep in mind your exhaust if you go much lower, espically if you're running aftermarket. I have H&R's on mine and the Stromung exhaust is the lowest part underneath, much lower and that would be crunching on every speedbump in the parking lot. Just a heads up, the car looks good back in black!![up]

I think that might be next, hey where did you get your exhaust and how do you like it? I don't want anything that is loud, I was thinking about cutting out my mid-muffler and just putting in two Sianless pipes where it resided for just a burble. Those muffs eventually rust out anyways. But info on the stromung would be great.

How do you like your TAP chip and what octane are they running on the pumps in Canada?
Brian
just a little FYI, the stock exhaust system ffrom the turbo back is constricting.Limited to about 350 hp,AND IT'S HEAVY AS BALLS!! once removed itsback breaking to carry. My stromung weighs less than 1/2 the stock does..And it lets the engine breathe ..Check the www.audifans.com marketplace for a used exhaust.I got mine for $500 shipped with a catless center section also along with the cat center. 2nd , the TAP chips are horrible for our I5 cars, deephouse has a Bob Pastore chip coming for his car who is a buddy of mine that did the chip for mine which is giving me 470 crank HP, he is highly reputable with the motronic ecu's...

^^^^ Shhhhh!! dont give the secret away! =)
[up] for Bing, he knows what he's talkin about.
Only wanted opinions on TAP chip knowing that i'm going a different route and made (what i would consider) a well researched decision on the ECU upgrade.
But URSquattro nothing against your setup, just wanted to know how you like the TAP chip....

The TAP chip is alright, works well, but seems like it has a bit too much lag for a stock turbo...not sure, but yea I def have to keep my eyes open for that exhaust..also wondering (bING) once you put that GT3071R in your vehicle did you just get another chip custom made with injectors and all that, or did you tune it on a dyno?
Myself and 4 other guys in the U.S. are running this same setup,my chipped Motronic ECU is at its limit with this hp rating..Holding an idle after deceleration is my biggest issue, even after we all found out it works best with the idle adj screw holding us up at the 12-1300 rpm range...Since the pic in my thread was taken,i have installed 034 EFI"s H/O DIS Coils....

yea I already did my ignition upgrade through Apikol, I have the B5 ignition and soon I will be ready to purchase the turbo kit from 034 motorsport including the GT3071R and all the lines and such, Im just wondering whether it comes with the tune and everything? and I have a friend who is a tuner but just domestic crap and he is known as one of the best in Canada. He told me if I can find the programs and software for it I have unlimited tuning capability with diff injectors and such.. I don't know if he is making out to sound easy to do?:?? I know for a fact that tuning it the biggest headache, I have no problem swapping the turbo and such I will also purchase the Tial direct fit waste gate. Figure its a good piece.

Yea its a great place I go back usually every year I have four brothers that still live there, and even 20USD can still get you plenty of beers, until the Euro gets there anyway. ESSIX- was that a direct bolt on mod with the 993 calipers?

Nope. Took adapters to do it. Easy pad changing...even hot. Plenty of mass to defeat the thermal load of converting all that kinetic energy to heat, too. Mine say "Porsche" on them, since I know a local guy who gets jobbers cost on parts at the dealer. I just tell people that's the part of a Porsche I liked, so I bought it.

Howdy essix. There are several full blown urS4/6 cars that I know of in KC. One belongs to Will Griffin and a new one that's almost done belongs to Tom Franklin. Here are a few pics of Tom's car.

Just thought I'd share. Its putting down about 420hp ATW. The turbo is a ceramic dual ball bearing from Innovative. The tubular is from a shop here in Denver called Saridea. Its running 034 standalone.

Hey there, Hap...
Yeah, mine's not full blown yet. Still workin' on it. Actually, my car is Griffen's old S6 from five or so years ago. I've done some stuff to it since then, and I track it frequently in HPDE's. Mostly Heartland Park, MAM, Hallett, MidOhio, Road America and the like.
I heard Bill's car blew up. Hydro-locked or something evil like that. I guess you have to do the bottom end if you're going into the 400+whp range. I don't know this other guy...who is he? I need to talk to him and get him to a Audi Car Club of Kansas City event. Hell, we're having a BMW CCA (Kansas City Chapter) HPDE at Heartland on August 10, 11 and 12. Love to see him there...you as well. Nothing would do me any better than to see you out there with the BMW boys, showing them the way.
Also, you probably know Jeff Gerner. He's got a full RS2 urS4. Nice machine and clean as the day it was built, too. He tells me he's going to build a 750+whp urS4 (which he already owns) to do Bonneville and a speed record. He's also going to do Pike's Peak with it. He's going to drive it to both events, too. If there was ever a guy who could and would do that, it's Jeff Gerner. He's got all the calcs done and says he's going to do it right. Can't wait.
Love to see your car. It's legendary as are you.
What's new on your car? I hear you have a pretty intense A4 1.8, too.

I'm only a legend in my own mind ;>) Bill blew a head gasket after he went with the same tubular manifold. That required a mild rebuild and he did things right this time with some mild porting and head studs. He's back on the road with the car and I think everything is peachy. Tom's car has to be broken in so I doubt if he's going to bne on the track soon. His car was a bone stock silver 95.5 saloon that Dave Jones transformed. He did brakes, suspension and motor. It was all very expensive.
As for my cars, the Green Monstah has bee in da shop for about 9 months but is jut about to come back out. I'll resurrect an old thred and you can see the mod list yourself under "Olde Skewl Audi". The 1.8t A4 is my Daily Driver and it is indeed intense. Its more of a point and shoot car where the urS4 is a Cruiser. Good to meet you here and cheers. I don't know Jeff. I do get to KC once in a while as our youngest daughter lives there.
