Am looking for a new company car and A5 looks nice enough [:p]
Does anyone know if the back contains two or three seats (A5 europe version)?
I need three due to that bunch of kids that will need to fit in there but I'm a bit anxious there would only be two seats in the back. I spoke to a local dealer and he thought it was three... thought... So i guess the guy didn't really know.
paying extra for three if that's an option from Audi is fine enough [:)]

i think is a four seater.. you can fit three in the back.. but the middle person will be uncomfortable..
but ... A5 as a company car? wow!! what kind of company is this? [:D]

There are only two seatbelts available in the back. It's strictly a 2+2 with emphasis on the 2 since the rear seats are cramped - probably perfect for a couple of kids though.

couldnt be smaller than a 3 series bmw though could it? the car is bigger in everyway i gotta imagine the backseats are at least the same size, if not bigger. the 3 series coupe i fit in the back no problem and im about 5' 9". My friend who is almost 6 feet tall fit back there just fine, too, so I gotta imagine the A5/S5 is just as comfortable if not more.

Yes, it is actually smaller than the 3 series coupe in the back. There is a problem with not only headroom, but also legroom. A lot of magazines have reported that it's very tight back there considering it appears that there would be more room. Tighter than even the current A4. It's not the car to buy if rear seat passenger room is a concern.
Personally, I could care less about how comfortable my rear seat passengers are - its all about the driver.... [:D]

^^^QuaTT is right on all counts. It is definitely a 2+2 and to hell with the folks in the back. This car is not a "family" car. If that's what you're looking for, then get an A4 or some other sedan. This is car is totally about the driver.

i understand the car is supposed to be for two people, more intimate, etc. i cant remember where i read this but one article said the backseats were the nicest of any coupe in its class (including the 3 series). maybe the writer didnt mean size necessarily. i agree that the backseat riders arent as important but at the same time i almost never drive more than one person. but when i do i want the seats to be comfortable enough for at least a 30 to 45 minute drive (when i go into san francisco from school). also i dont have long legs so its not a concern for the person behind me, just the passengers i usually drive are hogs who put their seats back much further than they need to be lol. whatever, i want this car so badly it doesnt matter!!!

Watch towards the last half of the video, you can see someone actually sitting in the back seats.
I stand corrected!! The head room is somewhat lacking but its not bad for short distances. The leg room looks alright to me. That guy doesn't exactly look short so I'm sure most of my friends will fit fine in there :)

Thank's for replies and in video it seems that there are two somewhat "real" seats and then it actually looks like you could fit in the smallest kid there in the middle (looked like a 2-point belt there at least)
And yes I could choose an A4 or whatever of course and am evaluating that too but I want this one cause it looks so friggin superb. My collegue choosed a BMW 3series coupe and it's nice but the A5 is far much nicer in my eyes.
Smalles girl is 7 years old so she'll do in the back middle for 3 years when it's time to change car again. As long as there is a belt there, this is the car to choose for me [:D]
I'll go to a dealer and check it myself to be sure.
Once again, thank's !

If I recall correctly, Audi has used a full three point setup in the middle seat on all vehicles for sometime now, not sure they would make a lap-belt only version for safety reasons. Here's a picture of the S5 rear setup with a storage area in the center. There are pictures of the rear without the center storage partition but it still is not configured to seat three. (ie. no center lapbelt or three point setup).

Oh well, those seats still look comfortable enough for a descent length drive (45 min to an hour). Not sure who would complain about those seats in a sports coupe, considering it shouldnt even have backseats to begin with.
