low 12 evo vs rs4

My buddy has a lightly modded evo running consistent low 12's on stock suspension.
He is running a dot autox tire (160 treadwear) and said that the rs4 had ftd. Hard to believe he was beat by an audi because I've driven his car and it is a disgusting all around package.

Sorry to talk about the evo again but it's a rivalry for him and I. (He also has a b7 w/sport pack. a4 6spd for his wife.)
It's not a disbelief of his word but more the fact that the nose heavy rs4 can autocross better than his evo. I think he needs some schooling in the driving dept.
Race was at Beaver Run not cones in a parking lot.

It makes me wonder how nice the rs4 really is. His car is pretty much unflappable.
He did take notice to the ass end kicking out on the rs4 on the throttle lifts in the skid pad which in turn lets the car rotate somewhat controllably (is that even a word?). I've had that car at speed with 4 people in it and it still felt great. I just need to find an rs4 for $20000 and I'm in.

evo is pretty much an uber track car. if it is a low 12 second car it is prolly on stock turbo or 20g, which neither have any lag. not to mention the evo is way lighter than the rs4...if he "consistantly" runs low 12's then he should have beaten the audi.

If it's at an autocross, it's 70% driver, 20% tires, and 10% car, really.

I know but I think the original poster was trying to justify that because it as an EVO, they are all like that. However that is not the case, not all EVO's can beat Lambos around the track.

Why was it stalling?
Was it a paddle shift setup?
Would that be a fair race against an rs4?---450hp? Probably not but it would be fun for a couple of bends.
