Yup. Going 106.2 mph in Eastern Colorado. Anything over 100 is automatically a reckless driving ticket. RD plus the speed plus a failure to use turn signals added up to 16 points and a half day in jail waiting to be booked. When I got back to Michigan I called a local attorney and he got it dropped to 6 points. Total bill for the attorney and fines was about 500.

yeah im 18, I dont have my motorcycle license, I WAS thinking about getting one. I was on my buddies new gxsr 600. Doing 87 in a 30..... passed the cop and kept going. Drove for about a 2 miles and parked it down this trail I know about.
The cops didnt get me there. but my buddies nieghbors have called the cops because of him doing burnouts and stuff before. So... shortly after I brought his bike back they showed up(the "pursuit" happened right near his house) and recognized my shirt...and now... I have about 15 tickets...and I already have one other speeding ticket and a 1500$ racing on highways ticket...

The 8th Amendment "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." - The 1500 ticket isn't that bad but in many cities they are impounding and crushing them for street racing. Friend got a ticket for cop invasion for like 2500 dollar and have to make payments for the next 3 years.
Attorneys even though are douche bags - but the lesser of the evils would to find a good attorney that is familiar with traffic laws which most are not. A good traffic law one can get you out of any jams.
The law once again is bias a person racing - a Ferrari can be going 150 mph on streets and find themselves a good attorney to get them off and a kid with a fixed up civic getting crushed for drag racing on a empty street because all local tracks have been replaced to build homes because it is more profitable.
Stupid legislation blaming "traffic" problems on street racer - when the real problem is overcrowd roads due to population expansion exceeding highway and street capacity. It helps pull away attention from shortsighted and incompetent leaders.

I got a reckless driving ticket for apexing an intersection and pulling a 180 Degree u-turn slide using the handbrake in front of my apt building. (there was a spot on the other side, it was 3am in the morning empty avenue both ways)
Out of nowhere came a unmarked crown Vic, come comes out yelling, "You think you're some stunt driver?". I was like, no sir, just parking my car I'm tired. I have bald tires guess the car slipped.
He came back with the ticket, what an asshat =/. I got off with a public misdemeanor and a 300 dollar fine, no criminal record, no points =D.

Best lie from one of my friend - he had some illegal tint and when a cop passed him he rolled down his window.
The cop pulled him over and was like why did you roll down your window when you saw me.
Friend was like - uhhhh I farted
The cop got a laugh and let him go - and was like get the tint fixed.

well i found out today that the cop is dropping allll my tickets except reckless driving....85 in a 30.. the only thing that sucks now is I cant get another ticket in that categorey or I will become a habitual offender in NH and have my license taken forever.... i'm only 18 and I guess I gotta get my shit together..

if you know what you gotta do than dont worry about it and just take care of business. i know where youre coming from but i was never caught doing that much bad stuff...youll grow out of it. but for now try and control yourself a little bit. take it to the track! its legal there.

yeah tell me about it. I guess this is what it finally took for me to realize it though.
the car has to go no doubt though. Driving it is way to risky.

I was arrested for driving on a suspended license that wasn't actually suspended. Spent over 12 hours in the pen. What happened was that I had FTA'd (Failed to Appear) for several speeding tickets so they suspended my license. I found out about this and paid all my fines, went to driver improvement class per the courts request and I had my license reinstated. Well, since this was nearly 10 years ago, the DMV's computer network wasn't what it is today and their records took weeks, sometimes months to update. So one day, I get pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt and of course, I happened to be driving my ex-GF's car so I didn't have my "paper-work" on me that would prove my license was no longer suspended. Cop searched the car, threw me in his cruiser and hauled me off to jail. I got booked and everything. Luckily the magistrate was kind enough to let me off w/o setting a bail amount because I had no priors and a clean record (other than driving). I went to court and they dropped all charges because they found out it was their glitch. I'm not proud of it but that's the worst thing I've ever done in my life. No smoking anything, never had any other problems ever. Like I said though, I was a stupid 19 year old...

yeah well I got 6 points for racing....3 points for my other speeding ticket.....and I'm gonig to get 6 more points for reckles.....so 15 points withing my first 2 years isn't good at all.
And if selling my is what its going to take to keep my from loosnig my license then thats what I gotta do. It just sucks cause ive worked soooo hard on it. I was in the garage for about 10 hours the other night. I finished putting in my 2.8 tranny and my southbend stage 3. I got to drive it for about 8 hours and then I got arrested. Its just a shame after the cars been down for 4 months, I finally finish it and now I cant even drive it.

clocked at 105 mph, got a ticket for:
no proof of insurance
no registration
driving w/ suspended license "without knowledge"
speeding
reckless driving.
guess what.......did get taken to jail just because i was wearing my Army uniform. that was funny, the cop tells me to get off the car and then tells me "i am not gonna take you to jail just becasue.....he saizes me from boots to headgear...." he gives me the tickets and takes off.

bro, you could just slow down and enjoy your car. I'm sure it's your age but after a while, driving fast all the time gets old. I *usually* keep the fast driving reserved for the track.

your right, and i try soo hard not to speed, and usually when I'm buy myself It's not that big of a problem. But then when I'm out driving with all my buddies, all hell usually breaks loose.

you sound like a smart kid. just be above that influence. they certainly won't pay your tickets or insurance. I understand it's easier said than done though.

I agree. I can finally control myself and drive my car normal speeds all the time, and I save up all my wants of going fast for the track.

Cop clocked me at 102 in a 60, gave me a ticket for 70+ in a 60. He told me how when he was 16 he used to drive his dads corvette really fast and do stupid things too, he just never got caught. He also said that he became a cop because he wanted to drive fast cars and carry a gun.
Some great stories so far! [up]
Edit-
That happened probably 3 months after I had gotten my license.

ive been driving for a year and a half and am yet to get a ticket. the college i go to takes about 20 minutes to get there with 90% highway driving. i was hitting 85 on a daily basis on a major highway and never got pulled over.
when i was in high school i had a cop walk in front of my car (92 acura legend) while i was driving and wave me off of the road. i was doing 40 on a 35 road, but it was in front of a school which has a 25 mph speed limit. he told me to not drive so fast you're inexperienced and let me go.
i dont like doing anything over 90 for a long period, i've hit 110-115, but to stay at that high rpm range isn't comfortable. if i had a transmission that could let me go that fast at a lower rpm im sure id do it more, but it's probably a good thing i don't have one :p

didn't get reckless driving but I just got pulled over along with two freinds in there cars for doing 92 in a 55, I killed my freinds 850r and I never dropped it out of 5th ( we started from 60 or so) I also got my freinds mk2 vr, but we all got pulled over cause we slowed down when we saw what looked like a cop but it was too late.

Here's a good one from a few years ago.
My mk2 GTI was down so I had to run to the autoparts store. Borrow my roommates older camry wagon. (His mom is a very famous childrens author and they have gobs and gobs of money) So I get what ever I needed at the parts store and come out. There is a cop blocking me in.
He asks for my license and all the info on the car. I said I didn't know where it was, this was the first and last time I drove that car (i hadn't a clue about it). Well the car was uninspected and not registered, also he had no insurance that I could find in the glove box. So I get a ticket for driving a car with no insurance, no inspection, no registration. The cop says to have the roommate call when I get home and he will transfer the tickets to him. If not I am out of luck. So I have him call when I get home. He owns up for the tickets and my name is cleared.
roommate needs smokes so hops in the car and goes to the gas station. (this is relatively rural vermont so not many cops). Sure enough State Police car there that pulls him over and gives him another three tickets for the same above no insurance no registration no inspection. tells him to drive home and park it. Cop follows him home and then leaves.
So that night he had to get to the college because he had written a play that was being performed and had to direct the rehersals etc.
He hops in the same car. heads out down the highway. State Police pull him over. gets three more tickets for no insurance, no registration, no inspection and failure to obey a Police officer. Car gets impounded.
10 tickets one day. I am not sure what ever happened to it but I am sure he got out of some of them.
