Today I had the opportunity to drive the new A5 3.0 TDI with 6 speed manual [:D]
I could compare it to my A4/B7 3.0 TDI with Tiptronic.
The windows lower a bit when you open the door (like the TT does).
I had to reach much further back to buckle up.
Put 'the key' in the slot and press the start-button is what I thought. But their was no 'pressing' necessary. I nearly touched it and the engine started smooth.
DRL-LEDs on [cool]
The mirrors are, when you drive it, pretty large. But you can see a lot more.
The engine is a little more quit as mine. It has only 800km on the dials.
The handling feels familiar. The A5 had 19" and on the Autobahn the small bumps were to feel in my body. When the surface was smoother, it did feel like I could 'cruise' all day.
Everyone is moving to the side when I appear in their RV-mirror.
I compared the Revs at 100km/h and 120km/h. The A5 runs about 25-30 Revs less with the same speeds.
But mine is a Tiptronic so the gears could be a bit different.
I noticed also that you get an advice (see pic with green -> 2) to shift gear if the Revs are to high and Diesel-consumption is more then necessary.
The car wasn't 'loose' yet but it was easy to bring it to 240km/h [up]
My personal opinion is that the 3.0 TDI drives better with the Automatic.
Unfortunate I was allowed to drive it for 30min [:(] And drove back home in my own Quattro. I noticed that the response to turning the steering-wheel was a bit more direct as in the A5.
I love the A5 but it's too expensive for me. [:(]
