It was a great event! It was my first time seeing drifting in real life (something other than Initial D) so everything was really exciting.

Next time, everyone don't forget their water to stay hydrated.

Mucho props to Ken for setting this up. Dinner was also great! This was my first drift event and it was quite exciting seeing 240's, Hachi ROku's flying around the track. Cant wait till next year.

Daaaammmnn!!! My neck is sooo red this morning! I put on the SPF45 all over yesterday and I'm still burned! If I show up with a huge mariachi sombrero next week for the ALMS, you'll know why! Sorry I left early, but I was done watching "the Gootch". Tarzan was cool though. Definatley had fun with the "Best Car Crew" out there!

LOL! As i was telling Curtis, it was only a matter of time before "The Gush" came up somewhere here. Too bad he "gushed" the S13 into the barrier, and drove another team car. That kid (17 years old) has serious skills.

I think that JGTC Benihana Viper was just insane with that driver, Sam. I have never seen tires go up in smoke that hard at 60+mph, flip a 180 while going forward, and then continue to slide and cook tires to complete a perfect 360, WHILE STILL MOVING IN A PERFECTLY STRAIGHT LINE??!!! Now that was vehicle control.

Rhys Millen and the GTO had a good showing as well, but some overtly aggressive behavior knocked him to 4th. Kudos to Calvin Wan, an SF/DC local, who took him out for 3rd place after a vehicle breakdown and teammate vehicle swap.

It was definitely interesting to put it mildly. Lot's of Hachi's, 240/Silvia's, a couple Skyline GTS's, an RX7, a Miata, a Supra, and some American muscle. Too bad the Z's had a poor showing. That one Axis 350 driver was laying power, but couldn't get it to come around correct.

Well, a fun day overall. Thanks to Ken for setting up the spectating/parking arrangements, receiving the Audizine team award (did my Z count? [:p]), and the great food at Max's. The chicken and patas were excellent, though the pansit bihon set me over. [:o]

Hey anyone wanna help build a hooptie drift for next year? I was thinking out loud yesterday about a 2nd Gen RX7 GSL or a Mitsu Starion. Hell, if guys can come out in a El Camino and an 80's mustang, why not us? We can load it up with decals to make it faster too!

Edwin and Lolo Ken were thinking the same thing but for a double duty car (drift and autocross). We should definitely work on that. I think we have enough talent to pull it off. Plus Saturnine has an extra Benzo!

Nice to see the AZ guys out there! I was driving the Silver Supra in the event. Went up against the Viper in the first round:( One of our Turbos was not working so we were down 250 hp the entire day! Had a good run with the Viper but the Viper must make the show acording to the judges, which is crap! Oh well, I'll get them in Irwindale! On my way home some jack a$$ lost his load off his truck on 680 and ripped off my front air dam and put a hole in my gas tank!!! A Bad day at the track got worse!

If its any consolation, we noted that the Viper-club crowd were all balding old fat guys dressed in lame golf shirts and baseball caps.[:p]

Sorry to hear about your ride home. Hope your insurence is paid up!

Great job Ken,

for setting this event up, it was a really cool event besides the sun. if you don't remind us comming early, i don't think we can get such a nice spot we had.

hey cdub,

really really great pictures.. wish i have a camera that can snap pic as fast as urs.. post up more if you have..haha

too bad that i didn't get pics from the car show..the sun is just too strong..

thanks piaa

for bring the tent you saved a lot of us,even some non related people..we all love you !! and avant is really cool!! it can carry alot of stuffs.

from this bad experience nwxt time we should bring a big cooler, alot of water and do our own BBQ, then we don't have to line up for an hour.. we may even make some profit out of it by selling burgers..haha..

hey chard,

sorry for not calling you at the line..by the time i remember you saying call you when i am in line for food i am alomst the first person at the line and my gf was watching the drift so i can't reach you.. but actually the line is gone after couple people after me coz' everyone went back and watch the drifter 's free style introduction..
