I have a question concerning switching chips in my car. I have a 2002 A4 1.8TQ5 and I have had my APR Stage 1 for a while now. My APR chip is soldered into my ECU and not the Direct Port.

I live in Atlanta and I asked Knowledge (REVO dealer) if I could rechip to stock and upload the REVO program, but they said they couldnt do it since I dont have my original stock chip.

On the other hand, the GIAC dealer here in Atlanta (Eurotech) has the capabilities to do so since he has been in the business for a while and I think their head tech is an ex-Jim Ellis VW/Audi tech. But I think he is going to rechip using the GIAC stock program.....

So the question is..... Is it possible to purchase a stock chip to resolder back to my ECU and then upload REVO? Or is there a REVO dealer closer to Atlanta that has some experience in rechipping back to stock?? I would love to have REVO in my car, but these inexperienced dealers are scaring me.

If this REVO thing doesnt work, I might just bump it up to APR Stage 1+ and sit tight till Stage III comes along....

What do you guys think???

you might be able to find someone who wants the giac chip. and use thier chip when they do the swap? I was considering doing that if i go for a turbo upgrade and use revo or what not.

Nadro makes a god point. Have your APR chip removed and you can sell it. It think you will need an OEM chip to change your software anyway.

I have stock Neuspeed chip that can be flashed with REVO, let me know if you're interested in it.
