i'm looking at buying a set of used rims but one of them got "slightly" bent and then straightened...
how worry should i be about buying this set?
would the rim in question be more proned to bending since it has bent once before?
TIA! [:)]

In general, the fact that a wheel has been bent before does not mean that it has been weakened or is prone to being bent again.
This comment, of course, applies to typical situations., If a wheel has been severely bent that is a different story.

Yeah, the wheel should be fine assuming it was not badly damaged. It takes all of two seconds to check it out. Put it on a wheel balancer and have them spin it without a tire mounted. You will be able to see if the wheel has any side to side movement or up and down like its oval. If it spins good, then it should be no problem. Most places that repair wheels know what they are doing or they wouldnt do it at all because you cant really do it half ass without it being very noticeable.

Proto, did you not read what I stated? I gave an exact example of how you can test to see if it is bent other than visual. Visual is no sign that a wheel will hold a balance when the tire is mounted.
Therefore, take the wheel to any tire/wheel shop and ask them to spin it on their machine to test for a bent wheel.
