Ok, so i'm w/ my friend in the S tonight and we run across this 2007 or 2008 model (whichever one is the new car w/ the new engine) G Sedan that is driving quite spiritedly on this 2 lane road in Stanford, CT. I come up on him and he starts really gunning it and dipping traffic, I follow suit and would have passed if it wasn't for cars in both lanes. Anyway, we come to a red light, I start revving up. Mind you, I don't really race launch my car ever, I'm new at it, but anyway, I keep the rpms between 3500 and 4500 rpms and blip the throttle in between there. The light turns green and I believe I dropped the clutch on the up-swing, but I know there's room for improvement. So we're off, and for all of 1st and second gear i'm only about the hood length ahead of him, which is the advantage I got from the launch. My friend and I are both amazed at what is happening, I'm like wtf, lol. Once I got into third I started pulling away, and by 100 I had about 4 car lengths on him. I stopped racing then cause I needed to get onto the highway, but man, what an unexpected turn of events. It had to be moddified in some way or how, cause I can't imagine a stock new G sedan keeping up w/ a stage 3 S4 all the way to the top of 2nd gear. I was really impressed. It was a lot of fun and ended my night well, but man, i wish I knew what was done to that car.

"g sedan"... yah wtf is that? a merc? if you ask me you suck at driving and probably shouldnt be driving a stg3 s4 in that manner..

i would think a stage 3 car would get him off the line a ton and just keep crushing him... there just as heavy but with about 175 less hp then a stage 3 car

an infinity .. lol i beat those things in my slightly modded stock 1.8t ..
sorry if i was harsh.. just dont think hes a good driver if a heavy nissan keeps up with him in an s4.. stage 3 or not

The G might be the all wheel drive version, and I have heard that stock they are underrated meaning they put out more power than quoted. It must have been modded to keep up with a stg3...... They have a couple good Tbchged kits and a nice SC kit though both have blow-off valves that should have given it away

thirdstrike, he said he believes it was modded.. do you know this car personally and know that it is stock? if not, why judge his driving and say he sucks. for all you know it was a twin turbo g... i know nothing about them but even a bad driver driving a stg 3 should walk the stock g a bit more than that i would think. we're here to share stories and have a good time. dont be so damn negative please. and... nice kill yz keep it up

thirdstrike, jeezzz man, calm down. That was the whole point of my thread, I have maybe 1 kill a week, and this seemed very odd to me when an Infiniti G held w/ me all the way through second gear. He had to be modified in some way, and my friend agrees. Believe me, I could teach you a thing or two about driving. I've been racing cars and bikes since I was about 8, so I wouldn't speak until you know what your talking about. If you want a list of kills to prove that something had to be done to this G are things like a Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette C6, Porsche Carrera S, SRT-4 .50 trim, and the list goes on.
Anyway, I still wish I had had time to talk to the guy in the G cause I'm really curious as to what he had in it. And ha, yea, I called it a G sedan cause isn't that what infiniti is pushin it as these days? Like their commercial is "The all new G". Dunno, either way, it was a fun time.

dude i'm sorry but that list of kills can be done with a stage2+

I would love to see or hear of a stage 2+ s4 beating a CTS-V, a new C6 Corvette and .50 trim srt-4. Please let me know of or see a video of a stage 2+ doing that. Go to streetfire, there is a race between a stage 3 s4 and an srt-4 50 trim from a roll, multiple vids anyway, to show you how fast one of those cars are. The only reason I won against one is because we did it from a stop. So don't talk unless you know what your talking about.

geez...everyones a critic on this thread. you know there arent a whole lot of cars out there that compete with stage three s4s. its hard finding something worth talking about but that list is more than good enough for me. take it easy folks.

I would love to see or hear of a stage 2+ s4 beating a CTS-V, a new C6 Corvette and .50 trim srt-4. Please let me know of or see a video of a stage 2+ doing that. Go to streetfire, there is a race between a stage 3 s4 and an srt-4 50 trim from a roll, multiple vids anyway, to show you how fast one of those cars are. lol the only one i cant speak for is a .50 trim srt-4 but cts-v and c6 vette can def be beaten by stage2+ i dont care what morons on streetfire post.. ive raced a lot of cars in my class and i know what stage2+ can do.. with a properly tuned stage3 u can run high 11s.. sounds like ur setup aint so grand if ur proud of these weenie kills.. ctsv do low 13s and c6 does 13flat.. stage2+ can run 12.9 so basically it comes down to the driver.. not tryin to put u or ur car down but lets be real here

But a roll is completely different territory. Either way, i was just trying to get the point across that I can drive, and drive well. But i'm done trying to prove myself, whatever. Back to this thread. That was one damn fast G. Just think, if I can take a .50 trim from a stop, how does a G keep w/ me only having a hood length advantage all the way through second? It had to be modded, plain and simple.

from a roll is the ONLY way to run.. stop light to stop light is much more dangerous and can involve too many other cars if you lose it..
my kill list in my 97 supercharged VRsex; 2006 corvette(yes a c6), 911 turbo(late model prolly 05/04), turbo supra, hella wrx's and srt4's, a modded evo9, HELLA mustangs including a pro-charged one, and i cant think/remember anymore.
freeway runs are true test of your car not how good a driver you are.

Stanford, CT. r.
Its Stamford, I live there.
I think You are just a bad driver.
Im not sure of anyone driving a modified NEW G sedan. Anywhere, ever.
But Im only human I could be wrong. But I've walked a bolt on 350z as well with just an apr chip....

Just cause you live in Stamford, sorry for the mis-spell I just hit the wrong button, doesn't mean you know all the cars in your town modified. Who knows if he was from Stanford, coulda been from someplace else in greenwich. And like I said earlier, a bad driver can't take a .50 trim srt-4. I have no idea how fast 350Z's are, i've never raced one, I didn't think they were that fast though.
To try my theory that this G Had to be moddified, I had another friend of mine come out last night with his parents new G Sedan in Sport Trim. We went to a red light and did 3 races. Eveytime I was a car length ahead by the middle of second gear. So i'm thinking maybe it was the drivers. So I decide to get into the G and stick my friend into my S. My friend is a very skilled driver, you only need look at his autocross trophies to realize this. His main ride is a Porsche GT3, where he got the cash, I have no idea. Anyway, we raced three times with me in the G and it seemed like my S4 pulled even farther ahead than when I was in the car. I was giving it all I had in the G cause I really wanted to know if something was wrong with my car. But the results had me convinced this G Sedan in CT had to be moddified. IF this isn't proof enough to the rest of you, then I don't know what else to do.

Guys calm down, I don't understand why there is so much hate here. We all drive the same cars, we should all be proud of each others kills. I also don't understand why everyone accuses each other about lying about races, just leave it alone. I raced a SRT-4 with God knows what done to it yesterday and lost by 2 car lengths, all I know is that thing sounded like a jet on take off when he hit the throttle. All I'm saying is that the hostility is really not needed. And I agree with YZ it really must have been modded because I have a 6SPD 04 G35 Coupe( I've listed the mods before) and it is much slower that my STG 2 Tip. Keep the Peace guys seriously, were all grown ass men here.

I don't know of any mods that would put a G that close to a stg 3 s4.
It would have to be twin turbo, but then with a decent tune he should have walked away.
So either:
A. he sucks at driving. and its twin turbo.
B. you suck at driving and its bolt on.
ps Don't go 100+ in my town. There are good places to race around here, not light to light.

Yeah, I really don't get all the hate ... You had a good run with a car when you're stage 3. I don't understand how any of us are in the position to comment what the Infinity Did or Didn't have ... It's been said many times that it might have been modded ... And if it wasn't, maybe he's a bad driver or maybe the car wasn't running right ... For all those reasons, we have no idea what was going on other than to say a Stage 3S4 won. And more importantly, for all the other reasons why the race could have gone that way, we should just nod our heads and wish we had a stage 3 S4.
Everyone needs to grow up with the hating and say "Congrats, nice run ... I bet that G was modified to keep up with you"...

Look at it like this. You hit 100mph in a stage three, so I am assuming you didn't even do a full 1/4 mile, or very close. You pulled 4 car lengths on him in that time. My guess is that you just beat him by almost a full second in the quarter mile. That's freakin awsome! That's the difference between 13s and 12s in the quarter, which seperates the men from the boys.
Here is my other guess. You have a N/A car running against a turbo. The N/A car will get a good jump because of no turbo to spool, so he was strong off the line.
In most cases, you don't see the big difference between cars until you run a quarter mile. My old Trailblazer did 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and I can do a 5.2 0-60 in this car. The numbers look good for my new car, but when you actually see that race, it's hard to see that .4 seconds in that short period of time. Now, when I run the quarter, NOW you see it. New quarter is maybe 13.4 in the new car and 13.9 in the TBSS. That's about 2 car lengths at that speed.
