View Full Version : Who would've thought...
...that installing a DV in an '04 would be such a pain in the ass.

Thank you, Audi, for locating the DV in the most inconvenient spot. The hose clamps are impossible to take off without a sawzall.
Would anyone in SoCal/OC be interested in helping me install my DV, installing it for me, or giving me any tips?
Thank you

Rhino Ramps + underside = the only way to install.

Going through the bottom is the only way to go. It still doesn't make it any fun though

it's not all that hard either though, once you have the factory clamps off.

dremel.. saw/sand off the "nub" that is locked into the ring...after u sand that off the clamp should be able to come off fairly easily. replace with new ADJUSTABLE clamps!!!

Use some heavy duty wire cutters. Grab an open end of the clamp, and TWIST til you have enough of a gap between, then use a flathead and pry it. Or you can just cut the "lock" piece that is holding the thing together w/ the cutters. I am in LA/SGV area if you need a hand.

Good luck man. Not quite the install that you expected when you got the DV a week and a half ago huh? I guess if you're going to break off that stock clamp, make sure you have a replacement first.

easy fun stuff .... i ripped mine out ... the most pain is ripping out the clamps ... easiest way to get them off is dremel!!
IDK what was the problem but go from the underneath and u can pull it down and twist it to work with it. than cut those mofos off. it took me about 20 min to install mine. than i found out I had a bailey in there. Sold the bailey for 100 bucks woot.
use a dremel with a cutting disc . . .
