JHM "solid" Short Throw Shifters

http://jhmotorsports.com/products/pictures/JHMsidebysideweb.jpg

Why reuse the stock plastic and rubber pivot assembly which is reused by ALL other short shifters when you can run a JHM (http://jhmotorsports.com) "solid" short throw shifter with a steel bearing with bronze race inside of a billet aluminum base? The feedback and feel is unmatched. Slop and play is also reduced as well. The rest of our shifter is all steel that will outlast any other shifter under every day driving or racing conditions. In addition the bottom steel base weighs more than stock which aids in shifting due to the increased inertia (works similar to a weighted ball). Last but not least we replace the sloppy rubber bushings on the sides of the shifter with solid Delrin units, increasing feedback and feel even further.

NOTE: Our reduction is all done at the bottom where the pivot to the rest of the linkage is. It is already adjustable from 5% to 25% (except B5 S4 which is 15% to 35%) based on your preference. If you want a feeling of more reduction and a lower knob height of 1" for more reduction. Just select the option when you order (only $5).

Ordered!

I opted for the 1 inch shorter rod height and I'm wondering...is that the most you can do?

Does the 1 inch reduction make it pretty uncomfortable to drive? Or do most prefer the height reduction....

Also, can we get some sort of package deal if we buy the shifter and the linkage at the same time?? :)

Most racers don't prefer the height reduction. I personally don't, I don't like to reach way down to shift. With the lowered height some people do not like that during more agressive driving with the armrest down it is a little more difficult to grab. But it is all preference.

Email me if you want more so I can send one back to my machinist. It may take a week or two since we would have to wait until all the tooling is setup for the next batch of shifters. Can't do more than an inch on B6/B7 A4s and S4s, everything else can be done.

Yes, I just keep getting sidetracked on R&D. I am on the third prototype. I will be trying to install it in my car when I get a chance. unfortunately the B5 s4 6-speeds are harder to do the linkage on vs the B5/B6 A4 5-speeds.

I just did some measuring and figured I'll be fine with the 1 inch reduction. In that case, how soon could I expect to receive my shifter?

Being that I don't stock many shorter ones and I just ran out I will have to send a regular length one back to my machinist to get shortened. Hopefully I can have it shipped out by the end of the week.

Thanks again for the order.

I have been trying to finalize the 6-speed likage for my S4 for a while. It is time consuming to remove the rods on my B5 S4. So once I get it sorted out I will move onto the other 6-speed cars.

I just ran out of the 1" shorter height B6 A4 5 speeds over the weekend. I am trying to get my machinist to make a small batch. Hopefully get it out in a week. I have the regular length in stock and all other shifters are in stock as well.
