I might of found a revo dealer who does vw and audi, How much is the revo chip? do they make one for a 2002 A4 1.8t cvt?
I have the apr trial on my ecu, giac could not bypass the apr, revo has a trial to but I was wandering if the revo program will bypass apr program? apr is really pissing me off, do not get the apr trial, for some reason it wont let giac program bypass it. Iam not sure if revo can bypass the apr trial program, would anyone know? I heard alot of good things about revo.

Where in Cali are you located? If you are in the LA area we can try installing the REVO trial and see if that can get past the APR. If is does you can then buy the full program. If is doesn't, then you haven't wasted any money.

Have the Revo dealer reflash your ECU with oem software and then install the trial. That should do the trick.

IIRC, the CD that Revo sells to dealers has OEM sofware for all ECUs that Revo has done software for.

Go to the Revo dealer and reflash the ECU. Believe they can reflash the ECU for you so long as your computer box did not change any chip inside. If you are still using the OEM chip, they can do anything for you even reflash it and reinstall the OEM program back to your ECU.

I went through the same headache, but this was few weeks ago.

My story....

Went to have the apr trial installed...drove around and didnt like it. So after a month i went to GIAC tuner and had them install their full program. Well while they were trying they ran into issues with the APR trial program that was left on the ECU. My car went into limp/safe mode. They called GIAC for tech help and after 4 freakin hours they got my car up and running back to stock with the apr files.

I went to my APR tuner and told them what happened and i was in luck that the APR tuner used to be a revo seller, so he had the stock revo program on hand. He flashed my car with the revo stock program and the APR files were finally off.

So im basicly where you at now.. I have no idea if any program will work, but i was advised it would. Im waiting for Revo to come out with a 04 program and then i think i will try them.

In otherwords, **** you APR for the headache.

Oh and the stock Revo program took awhile before my car would take to it. Not sure why. Freakin APR!

If this the case, it must be something wrong with APR.

After my apr trial ended I had a cel which the dealer said it well probably do. So revo might be able to reflash it and take out the cel? Its just a hassle to go back to dealer and reflash it then go to revo dealer to install chip. I guess that might be the only option. What is strange is after giac turner, my car feels chip, it pulls good and turbo spools up faster, Do you know why? You think giac flash program went through or they activiated the apr program again? To me I think its the giac chip because it pulls really good then after around 60mph it starts to pull again. I really like it, the only thing I still have the cel.

Titan... you know it might. I felt the same way after GIAC tried to flash my ECU. After i left there my car felt like it did with the APR trial. I thought it was all in my head.

Anywas you dont have to go to the audi dealer for a reflash. Just take it to the Revo tuner and he has a stock program that he can reflash your car with.

yea, it feels like I have the giac chip, the apr trial didnt feel like this. Could the giac turner mistakenly did not know that the flash program went through and bypass the apr trial?
Fong- how does the giac chip feel?
For me it pulls good from 2000 to around 3000rpm then after maybe 60mph it starts to pull again its strange but I really like it. It just seems like it just keep pulling.
The only thing is my cel is still on but It was on since the apr trial ended, but it just needs to be reflash but would it earse everything I have now? Iam just thinking what if it is a giac chip

i have the GIAC and it feels GREAT! the car just KEEPS PULLING!

its still a REALLY HEAVY CAR! and the acceleration from a dead stop is still pretty slow. but once you get the car moving... it just... IT GOES!!!

i didnt get any CELs.

i was speaking to jeff moss at torque factory (he does the local GIAC installs for socal) and he said that GIAC is the only one that SAVES your TRUE OEM STOCK programming.

when you install APR or REVO or any other direct port programming they dont save your factory programming. they give you a STOCK MODE that simulates the stock programing but only GIAC saves your STOCK SOFTWARE and when you need to swap... they take the software that was in your car originally and put it back in.

when i got my car GIACd the first thing they did was download all the STOCK SOFTWARE from my car. then he sent that info to GIAC to save. then he uploaded the GIAC software.

this is my understanding of the install process.

that might be why you're getting CELs and all sorts of problems... cuz the APR install doesnt save the TRUE STOCK PROGRAMMING
