My name is Amanda, new to the audi scene, and I just got a 2004 audi a4 with 18inch rims, and apparently the previous owner did some other things to it. Figured I would introduce myself and get some ideas on how to personalize this car for me. Here is a picture of the car

Anydbody else know whats done to it? The reason I got an audi, was because i totaled my tsx in a accident about a half a year ago, and then my parents got me this since they say it will be better in the snow. Thanks guys and girls!

Howdy, Amanda.....I'm new to the Audi scene as well. I'll ask what another member asked me when I first joined......do you go for looks or speed or both? If both which is more important? Pretty car BTW.

Looks like you got the looks (minus the wheels) well covered. If you have the money, I'd say chip it, dump in an exhaust, FMIC and possibly even a Ko4 if you're looking for a little more power while maintaining the reliability. [wrench]

probably so. I heard about it in the Shih Tzu forum that I'm a member of. I felt so bad for that sweet little dog and a bunch of ppl watched and let it go on to the point that it was too late.

Anyways, welcome to AZ and USP stands for Ultrasport. It is a popular package for the B6 A4 that includes subtle but coveted factory body kit which differentiates itself from other "regular" B6 A4's. What most people do first is the black out grilles and clear cornered headlights, but since the previous owner has already done that, you can move onto suspension. The B6 looks mighty fine when lowered with little or no fender to tire gap.

I was going to say tinted windows as well. This is my first car with aftermarket tint, using Solar Gard True Grey 28, and I'll be doing this to all my future cars from now on. Just the right amount of tint for me, keeps the car cool, looks good, and adds some privacy.

If you want reliability..keep it stock...if u want more power...just chip it...but watch out for coil packs going on you.
As for looks...i think from that one pic the car looks sweet...more pics pls...and oh yea tint is a good idea.

Wecome to AZ. The A4 fits you girls perfectly as it is pretty much a "chicks car" doh...
Welcome to AZ. As for personalizing, I'd probably suggest starting with tinted windows. You're gonna be in the snow, so I'd also throw in some all weather floor mats if you don't have those already. Maybe get an ipod adapter if you don't want to spend 1400+ for the RNS-E (nav plus unit with big display screen and sd card slots). I'd hate to sacrifice too much function for performance so that's really up to you. For example if you lower the car and put on some expensive rims, you might not want to drive it out in the snow or bad roads. So I guess the 2 questions you may want to ask yourself are:
1) Do I want it to look really good / go fast?
2) What type of weather / road conditions will I use my car for mainly?
Of course you can have both, just gotta be more careful driving with mods. Also check out the sticky threads at the top of this forum. Alot of useful information.

nice car. same thing as mine. 05' usp in silver. i need to tint my windows still. oh yah, get an APR snub mount too. especially if you have a 6 spd. it works wonders welcome to the AZ also, get a USP# , like in my sig...

if snow safety is a priority, then youre gonna need to either buy a second set of tires for the winter or just get a 2nd set of wheels with winter tires on them.

I can't see the wheels too well in your pic, but if they're 16 or 17"ers you could put winter tires on them and then get a set of 18" or 19" wheels with summer tires, and then you just swap them back and forth with the seasons. Oh, I just re-read your post, you have 18" rims? Use those for summer tires and then get a set of 16" wheels and winter tires.
Does your car have xenon headlights? They almost look like it in the pic, but it could just be the pic.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I do have xenon lights and from what I was told I have summer tires on my wheels right now. I will probably have to invest on some winter wheels. I did some research today, and I think I will tint my windows, get some suspension, different wheels, and hopefully a chip with injectors.
