Well, after 15 hours of flying, on a three leg flight from SFO to JFK to LHR to Munich, I finally landed in Munich on Thursday at 12:30 PM.

My buddy at work Thomas picked me up from the airport and we did a quick tour of the city. The architecture of the buildings is absolutely amazing.

I'm actually staying in Munich, which (unfortunately?) is BMW country. Ingolstadt is the Audi home town. I hope to get out there sometime later during my trip.

Today, I went to a auto museum in a small town 75 km outside of Munich. It was only German made cars since the 1920s, so Opels, VWs, BMWs, Audis, Benzs', and of course Porsche.

I few classic Auto Union cars (I'll post some pics later)...

Then we also stopped by an Audi dealership and I snapped a few pics of some Audi A3s. I have a few more pics, but its about 3:10 AM (PST + 9 hours), and I'm too tired to work on it now...

Thanks for listening to my ramblings.. here's a reward for you.

Rome? Sweet! I just got an email from an AWer. We might have a meet to go out to Ingolstadt. There's an Audi Museum and you can even go see Audi's being made at the factory on production days! Can you make it to Germany during your trip?

Hey Leonard! Glad to hear you made it safely. Enjoy your time over there. Everyone's requesting cars...all I want is a Nav+, lol. Isn't that kinda expensive? 30 EUR is like $45 right?

So this weekend I took the time to site see around Munich. I went to all the good places. The BMW museum and the Duetches Museum.

Unfortunately, the real BMW museum is being renovated into some massive huge new attraction that will extend over into Olympic Park. So they had this temporary BMW Museum exhibit. Wasn't all that exciting, but it only cost me 2 euros to get in.

Then I went over to the Duetches Museum today (good gawd this museum is HUGE!). The Duetches Museum is massive (did I mention that it's big?). Well anyways, it has all sorts of exhibits from mining to mineral processing and oil refinery, from electricity to nuclear fission, from row boats to aeronatics, and and such. Basically, its a huge technology museum. Woo hoo! So they are going to have an exhibit on cars, right? DOH! Closed for renovation.

Still, I spent about 6 hours in the museum. I quickly went through as much as a could, but I wish I had more time to spend on certain exhibits, but I just wanted to see as much as I could.

So after about 5 PM today, I walked over to Marienplatz to find something to eat. I wander around and find myself in "Oper fur alle" or Opera for All. Its an outdoor free opera. The real opera is going on inside one of the concert halls, and they have a large screen and speakers setup outside so that everyone can enjoy the opera for free. I eat a restaurant that has outdoor seating and prime viewing for the screen. Food was excellent, but after 8PM to was starting to rain and get cold and I wanted to just get home to my hotel room.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention. On the way walking to Marienplatz I saw, not just one but TWO RS4s. The first one I was like, nah that can't be an RS4. It must just be a poser. But then not 30 seconds later, I see ANOTHER ONE double parked. Lowered, RS4 wheels, a huge front BBK (crossdrilled rotors), and a RS4 front bumper and a wide body that you couldn't miss.

And then (there's more!!!) I walk a bit further down the street and I see an S3!

MAN I LOVE THE CARS HERE!!!!

just 45minutes by bus from the Munich airport. Aside from the Audi factory, there are a lot of other atractions in Ingolstadt. If you decide to spend the night in Ingolstadt, there are a couple of 'minotels' in town. I suggest you go to Alstaadt Hotel in the middle of town. It is walking distance to the town plaza where you can go shopping and eat!!!

While at the Audi factory, make sure to make arrangements so you can join an english tour. The tour takes about 2hrs....Oh! while in Ingolstadt, why not visit MTM which is less than 10mins. away. There are also castles and small villages around town that you might want to visit.

Enjoy!
