alright, so my neighbor (in an attempt to fix the problem) said that it looked like the nail could just be in rubber and not actually puncturing through to make the tire leak, so before i could say no he grabbed some pliers and tore it out of my tire... well 24 hours later it has maintained tire pressure at 38psi, right where i last filled it up before the nail even got in the tire, so apparently im leak free by some sort of miracle..

my question now is... is there any danger involved with driving on a tire that had a nail puncture the inside of the sidewall? it was only a less than 1 inch nail, i drove around a little bit to make sure it was sorta stable and then did a couple hard turns and it seems alright.. anyone have any input? thanks.

Hey - I remember when you posted that before. I think you should be fine. But, if there's still a noticeable hole in the rubber you could try filling it with that compound that comes with the plugs kits. I think I mentioned that stuff on your first post, after it happened.

Glad to hear you didn't need to get new tires! If you're not leaking air, and the nail wasn't too big/deep, then I wouldn's sweat it. I have at least two tires on my car for the last 7,000 miles or so that have been plugged due to nails puncturing them.

Yeah, I don't think you'll have a problem either. Just keep an eye on the pressure.

You should be fine Nick. Same thing happened to me and the tire was fine after the nail was taken out. Just keep an eye on it though.

thanks guys. i appreciate it. just making sure i didnt have to worry about some blow out from it. im shocked it didnt leak at all. ill get some of that compound from the patch kits and inject a little into the hole just in case though.
