I've never done anything in this are so i know absolutely nothing. Search feature didn't help alot, so i thought this thread i would. i decided not to touch the rears and leave it up to the professional since i will need special tools. For the front:
1.Exactly what tools do i need?
2.what's the best pads with reasonable price (Not cheap not not bank breaking) and where to buy them?
3.Should i do it myself?
thanks in advance.

You really don't need any special tools for this at all. Look at this article and the articles linked from it: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel139.shtml
The most "special" tool needed is an allen key or allen head socket, and you will need that for the front or the rear...

If you want some help and are willing to drive to Costa Mesa, I will be glad to help you change your brakes. I just completed a BBK-Rears over the week-end.

I just did mine this past weekend, brakes and rotors. Its real easy, do it yourself and save some $. The write-up posted above is a good guide.
