where'd my boost go?!?!?!?

hey.
so i think that my diverter valves went today. i think that they have been on the way out for awhile now, ive only being seeing 17psi max boost, no longer 20psi.

but now i can only get 5 psi!!!!

is this from bad diverter's or could it be ecu related????

according to a snap on scanner i havent found any trouble codes.

any thoughts??

also, whats involved in replacing stock DV's? is it just the rubber seal that needs replacing or the whole unit??

if i can get the aftermarker billet ones tommorow from Dub Werks (chicago) i will, otherwise i'm gonna put in the stock replacements. im goin home for the holiday and showing up with just 5 pounds is not acceptable.

don't get stock get a pair of the 710n valves. Stock from the 225hp TT. They hold more boost and should be under 30 each at the dealer.

i did some research on AW and, someone from awe seems to think that the ecu reckognizes the bad Dv via the maf and therefore adapts. could this be whats happening to me??
has anyone else heard of this?
and how do i reset my ecu?

As far as our original recommendation regarding resetting the ECU itself upon diverter valve replacement: we *still* stand by that suggestion, even though it looks like we're taking a lot of heat over the issue.

A faulty diverter valve will cause the ECU to adapt to altered air flow through the MAF (in this case: mal-adapt). The adaptation will happen for a certain period of time until there is no more adaptation room left, at which time a check engine light will be tripped and a code stored. Unplugging the ECU for a short amount of time will "wipe out" this adaptation (mal-adaptation), giving the ECU a clean slate to work from (except if the check engine light has been tripped). RESETTING THE DTC (fault codes) WILL ALSO RESET THE ECU ADAPTATION, as per the VW/Audi most recent TSB.

However, we never said that the ECU reset was "required" when swapping out a failing diverter valve. We only said it was "suggested". Ultimately, just as the ECU can adapt for a failing diverter valve, it can adapt back for a working diverter valve. It's just that it takes a bit of time for this to happen, and unplugging or resetting the ECU allows you to take immediate full advantage of the diverter valve improvement.

If you prefer not to go through the "hassle" of unplugging your ECU after a DV replacement, no problem. The ECU will adapt to your new DV in time. If your old DV was really bad, it may take a couple days.
