Keyless remote antenna

does anyone know which wire under the rear seat is the antenna for the keyless remote? I read somewhere that I can increase the range of the remote by running the wire/antenna up around the parcel shelf.

for 99.5 the antenna unit is in the trunk IIRC. That tech article you're refering to was MY specific

It's a myth, only applies to '96 models from what I've been told. Just hold it up a little higher in the air (head high) and it will work from further away.

For what it's worth, I live on the 2nd floor and I can easily roll up and down my windows with the remote from there. It's all about getting above the antenna.

I would settle for anything more than 5 feet. Yes I have replaceed my batteries and it helped for about a day.

honestly IT DOESNT WORK, my brother done this mod and changed his on his 97 to the newer one and its worse. his remote range is horrible. once it gets older its something you have to deal with. he replaced wire and batteries in remote in hope for more range now whenever i drive his car i use the key because even when your standing by the door its debatable if it will work.
you can try it but it didnt work for my brother. g luck post results

I dont care about UNLOCKING my car more than 5 feet away.... just disarming the alarm, when it ALWAYS goes off when my window is cracked....

Didn't work for me either - the range is the same. I extended the range of the antenna wire and I got no difference whatsoever.

press the button on the b-pillar. before you lock it with the windows down
